WHEN LUCY REALIZED KARLI had threatened Sam's sister and her kids, she felt something rageful fill her. It was unfortunate that Karli was still technically a kid. She was a teenager and Lucy wasn't going to kill teenagers. So she couldn't do much about the feeling in the pit of her stomach. Still, it was unfair that Karli threatened Sam's family.

He hadn't done anything but try to talk to her– and was that so bad? He had wanted to help her, and Walker had destroyed everything Sam had tried to accomplish. The rationality of Karli was naive in the way a teenager refused to do assigned homework.

It made Lucy completely and utterly angry.

So she was glad to suit up and follow both her husband and Sam to meet Karli Morgenthau and speak to her for a second time. If Lucy was being completely honest, a fear she'd experienced only with Clint's family bloomed in her chests. When she first arrived at the Barton residence, she had been afraid of her abilities.

She was too dangerous, too powerful.

She felt apologetic to her younger self.

After all, she feared something that wasn't very dangerous at all. Lucy had real powers to struggle with now, and though she felt inclined to fear them, she tried her best to adjust to her new state–of both body and mind.

Lucy tied her hair back before scooping Alpine into her arms.

"Please tell me you aren't bringing your cat up to the roof." Sam stated, sounding horrified. "We literally just had a kidnapping situation happen because of said cat."

Lucy rolled her eyes at him, holding Alpine to her chest.

"I know Sam." She replied with a sigh. "I'm going to store Alpine in here."

Her abilities were strange.

She could manipulate them with ease as long as she was creating mundane things– like cages, for instance. She figured out rather quickly that she could put living things in the realm which she had formed from. The place of her memories was also a place Alpine could stay. So she raised Alpine into the air, placed her in a cage made of souls, and shut it.

To James and Sam, it looked as though she was putting Alpine on a platform, invisible to the eye. And when Alpine disappeared from view, Sam was more or less startled by the lack of cat in the air.
