"Did we learn this? I don't remember learning this."

THIS WAS THE THING– James wasn't necessarily the smartest person on the planet. Sure, he was extremely intelligent when it came to writing up battle plans and infiltrating HYDRA bases, including the new ones now popping up due to Henry's absence and that woman– Val's– insanity. But, James hadn't looked at anything remotely educational for most of his existence on the planet.

He tried not to let the smile on his face slip away as he stared down at the math problem Angeliko had brought to him.

They were sitting side by side at the dining table. His computer was still open and waiting for him to type up the mission debrief from their last alien excursion. He'd turned the screen so his nine year old son couldn't possibly read what he was up to. They didn't particularly lie to Angeliko about what they did for work, but, well, it wasn't like they also told Angeliko what they did.

Maybe it wasn't the smartest idea, but they really wanted Angeliko to live the most normal life possible, and this was one of the only ways. It was bad enough that they had to move around the states sometimes, either for a mission or some other sort of government-issued monitoring.

Anyway, James was here, sitting beside his son, who was a gifted third grader currently taking geometry.

Geometry, the last subject James vaguely remembered in math. Alright, James was pretty average when it came to education and all that jazz. He was busy working his ass off to support his family during the War, and yeah, his family was better off than most people at that time, but it was because he was a hard worker.

He pursed his lips as he stared down at the sheet of paper glaring back at him with triangles and angles and blank spots Angeliko was supposed to fill in.

How were you supposed to find a side of a triangle when you only knew one angle and two other sides?

Was this possible?

"Papa?" Angeliko looked at him with his innocent blue eyes.

Look, HYDRA never bothered to teach him any more math than he'd learned in highschool. They were more busy frying his brain to pieces to teach him anything math or science related.
