OF ALL THE IDIOTIC things Lucy had done in her life, accidentally initiating Tony's time traveling device was probably the worst of the worst. Sure, she'd done some stupid things in the past, one which included attempting escape when it was clearly futile, or amending amends that weren't really hers or James's burden to begin with, since, according to Sam, it wasn't their fault. Either way, Lucy probably should have rethought standing in the center of the goddamn machine with Sam and James.
James wasn't exactly sure what he touched that sent them spiraling back in time. Honestly, he was looking at the high-tech computers and they turned on the moment he stepped close to it. And sure, he probably shouldn't have touched the big green button next to the red button that glowed at him. And he probably shouldn't have raced onto the landing pad in an attempt to shove Lucy and Sam off. But he did, and now they were in the middle of bumfuck nowhere, a heavy thicket of trees surrounding them.
Sam had wanted to throw Bucky out of a window hundreds of times in his life. Usually, it was because he went on his own on missions and completed them without him knowing. Or it was because he did something like break Helmut fucking Zemo out of jail. His reasons were often justified, not that he'd ever throw Bucky out of an actual window– only in his head. This, however, might just be his breaking point. He might actually have to throw Bucky out of a window now. After they got back home, somehow.
He groaned, running a hand over his face. Neither of them were dressed appropriately for a fight. They had just been exploring the newmade campus and the time traveling device that was half built, left to Lucy in Tony Stark's will. It was supposed to be a fun day, and they were all going to grab some ice cream later.
He pulled his leather jacket closer to himself.
Ice cream would definitely not be happening any time soon.
James's eyes roamed around the area as he zipped up his own jacket. It was fucking cold, wherever they were, but it definitely wasn't the Alps. He had no idea where he'd sent all of them, and really, at this point they needed to get cover, not just stand around like idiots.
Lucy was the only one dressed in some sort of tactical gear, mainly because she was just into that type of fashion.
