"I have no intention to leave my work unfinished."
Berlin, Germany July, 2024
"HEINRICH!" LUCY GREETED WITH a smile on her face. "How have you been?"
The Chief of Police looked five years older, the man having survived the blip. He was still a crooked cop, unsurprisingly, and one of the most useful people Lucy knew. She embraced him in a half hug, patting his back, before pulling away.
"Gut, good," Heinrich smiled broadly, "and you?"
"Could be better, could be worse." She replied with a little shrug.
Sam looked at James with a confused look behind her. James gave him a shrug, because he also wasn't aware that Lucy was so comfortable with the literal Chief of Police. Heinrich glanced behind her, before looking at her again.
"You looking for Schaffer?" He asked. "He left a long time ago."
She shook her head, her lips still tilted upwards.
"No, there's someone else we're here to see." She replied. "Do you think you could do me a favor?"
She pulled her phone out from her pocket, turning to stand beside him. She pointedly moved the screen so it was facing him. It showed his bank account, and the money she was willing to transfer. She clicked on it, and Heinrich's lips stretched wider.
She turned her phone off, shoving it back into her pocket.
"Gut."
Good.
Heinrich nodded his head.
Lucy chuckled.
"I'm glad we've come to an agreement." She said, before turning to James and Sam. "Come on."
Heinrich turned to the door leading to the hall of high-profile prisoners.
They followed after her–Sam decided he would ask questions later. Heinrich hummed to himself jovially as they traveled down an empty hall. James fell into step besides Lucy as she followed him, trusting the fact he was taking them to the right place.
It was simple, this type of thing,
"And Klause? How is the friend?" He asked.
Lucy chuckled.
"He is good, Heinrich. Still with Henry." She explained. "His work makes him busy."
"Of course." Heinrich nodded his head in understanding.
