Mira sat on the quiet field.
She was calm, she was silent.
*Chirp* *Chirp*
She was not thinking.
*Chirp* *Chirp*
She was concentrating. She was not listening.
*Chirp* *Chir-*
"I'LL MURDER YOU, YOU STUPID BIRD FUCK. YOU SUCK I'LL KILL YOU JUST COME DOWN HERE ONCE FUCKING FUCK!" Mira screamed out after which she pulled on her hair for a while.
She then screamed again and smashed her fist against the ground out of frustration.
Five days. The past five days she has tried. She can't even stay quiet let alone have a clear brain.
"I can't do this shit." She said, staring at the birds.
How does one not think? Mira had a wandering mind, always thinking its thoughts. And now that she's telling it to not think she thinks more about everything. The only thing on her mind?
Don't think Mira.
Don't think thoughts Mira.
Stop thinking about not thinking.
Think-ity think think.
I want a break.
All she had done these past days was think of not thinking. Kai had given them some other drills and training besides the call summoning. But other than that it had been quite slow, Kai's been gone due to a mission and she was here slacking somewhat with lack of motivation. She can't figure out how to get her call.
Thankfully, Nina had not gotten hers either. That was the only upside.
"Focus more on yourself than your sister." Her dad used to say that to her when they were younger. And she had always wondered how? She also wanted to retort how she had picked up that habit from him.
"STOP THINKING MIRA." She screamed and laid down out of frustration making a thump noise.
Maybe being a shinobi isn't her destiny. She just wanted to live, have a few friends, maybe a husband and some kids around, grow old and die. This was more work than her budget called for.
"I'm done." She got up and turned to leave but screeched when she saw Kai sitting behind her, against a tree reading a book as usual.
"Hello to you too." He mumbled covering his ears at her high pitched voice.
"What are you doing here?!"
"It's my house, trouble." He said still not looking up from his book.
"I know that! I'm asking because you weren't supposed to come back for like a few more days from your mission." She clarified.
"Were you about to leave?" He ignored her question, finally looking up with his brown eyes which were sparkling under the sun.
"Yes. This whole call thing isn't for me so I quit." Mira said, backing off a little, ready for his wrath.
"You quit?" He asked with a neutral expression walking towards her figure.
"Yes look, I know you-"
Kai smiled at her, surprising her a little.
"No no, it's okay. I knew you would not be able to do it. I only expected it from the others anyway. Especially Nina." He gave a wider smile which caused Mira to glare at him.
"What?!" She asked, crossing her arms.
"What? You said you quit, and I encourage you to do it. Leave." Kai said, still smiling at her again.
