"Hiya!" Mira greeted with a big smile. Elias stared confused at her.
"M? What are you doing here?" He asked in a hushed tone, trying not to wake up the kids he had safely put to bed. "Don't tell me you didn't go to the festival. Mira I told you not to-"
Mira giggled when he frowned, "Festivals are overrated. And, I'm not the only one who thinks that. Right guys?"
"Yes." Gael rolled his eyes and moved from behind the wall and stood next to her right. Elias's eyes widened a little.
"Hey man." Ares then moved to her other side with a slight frown. Mira grinned widely at his shock.
"All of you skipped out on it?" Elias tried not to cry. He felt seen, cared for and loved for who he was. He felt like he had made his own little family looking at them standing here. They cared.
"Duh. Also, she made us rehearse this for like ten minutes, so cry it out properly." Gael said acknowledging his watered eyes with a small smile and a pat on his shoulder.
"Yes, yes I did." Mira proudly clapped her hands showing all twenty-eight teeth.
"And I wanted to apologize for how I acted before. If you couldn't tell I'm kind of an idiot so I do stupid shit, but that's not an excuse. I'm sorry." Ares said whilst combing a hand through his hair.
"It's okay Ares." Elias gave a huge smile matching Mira's when she jumped on his arms.
"Wanna come with us? We're going to chill near Ahana. It's probably quiet in there so it'll just be us. Also please come with us because we want you to." Mira said. Elias nodded, letting her go.
"Are you sure your parents are okay with it?" Elias asked as they walked. Mira thought about it, her father was probably dancing out of joy due to her absence. It would actually be hilarious if the chief was actually dancing. She would dance if she was a chief.
"Is she okay?" Ares asked out of confusion about Mira's loud giggles.
"She was never okay." Gael rolled his eyes and pinched her arm, snapping her out.
"OUCH! Yes yes, my dad's going to be just alright." She rolled her eyes.
"My dad doesn't know... Gael and Mira caught me on my way. I don't think he'll care though."
"My old man's at home with ma. She's from one of the towns around the Archives, so most here aren't a fan of hers." Gael laughed a little. "She sure loves those coasters but hates feeling like the odd one out, so dad is accompanying her tonight."
The Archives was the most dangerous place right now as it had been turned into the primary warzone by Kitsuri and Moric. Most of those people from the Archives are now immigrants in Orachi or in the outskirts of Ahana.
"I thought all chiefs were supposed to attend." Ares asked out of surprise and Mira nodded in agreement.
"He copped out on this one. Remember they recently collectively decided that every rogom or chief can cop out of one event they don't want to attend? My dad's using that."
They all sat down near Ahana and continued,
"That's so sweet." Mira smiled dreamily. She too wanted a relationship like that one day.
"It really is." Elias agreed.
"Wait, you said all chiefs and rogoms can use a cop out?" Mira asked Gael. He nodded midway through his yawn.
"Unless the rogoms are away on other missions. That does not count as a cop out."
"You mean to tell me that Kai saw our whole predicament and still chose to keep his cop out for later." She glared at nowhere.
