The next few hours were hectic.

Mira was beyond lost. She sat tight, holding her knees whilst staring blankly into the walls of her room.

She ignored the constant knocks, then the person on the other side walked in anyway.

All she knew was Gio had told all of them to get back home, took Elias's body to the council and forbid Kai from entering.

"Mira..." She heard her twin say, but her voice was fuzzy and faded.

The news of Elias Alvares had started to spread around the town, and yet here Mira was still in denial. She was going to see him walking around, laughing about the silly rumors after cleaning off all the blood.

Tears formed in her eyes again.

Elias was going to be okay.

"Mira, listen." Nina said with slightly fearful eyes as she walked closer to her sister, desperately trying to get her attention. "Mira!"

"Dad's angry with you... MIRA!" Nina shook her.

"Is he?" She said finally. Her voice was husky, her throat was dry, and her eyes felt a consistent burn.

"Look, he's calling you. Don't talk back or anything. Like chief G said, let him handle it..." She warned with slightly tearful eyes.

"Okay." Mira said quietly and sauntered out.

Her father's rigid figure stood tall in front of her as she walked in front of him. His posture was stiff, and he had the same permanent glower plastered to his face.

"Dad-"

"I don't appreciate the sudden disobedience from you Nina. Get the fuck away and go to your room." He said he was irked by her. Nina looked at Mira once again, then nodded with a frown and left.

"Why did you let the boy take your arrow?" He said with a clenched jaw while he forcefully grabbed her cheeks.

Mira stayed quiet. She did not wish to speak to him. She only wanted to see Elias, when he would return back.

"Answer me you bitch!" He said throwing her whilst at it, causing her to fall backward. Her back shattered a vase which in turn caused the glass to pierce her.

It hurt, it hurt a lot in fact. She could not imagine what the arrow must have felt like. Her eyes moistened again as she thought back to how deep the arrow was pierced in his chest. How much blood there was, and how he looked so pained.

He wasn't coming back, was he?

She touched her back which in turn wet her hands with her own blood; only intensifying Elias' images flashing in front of her eyes.

She sobbed, clutching on to her stomach.

"We are going to show that orphan how we treat the dead bodies of such scums." Her dad said with a slight smirk.

Finally, as if Mira had registered what he said, looked at him with furious eyes. Her dad let out a dark chuckle as she shifted her glare to the ground.

"What do you mean?" She asked quietly, still looking onto the floor.

"I am going to ensure his body gets thrown away, and you get kicked out of Ahana. You think you can rule over me because you have Kai Zaveri in your hand? I will make sure to make his life, and yours a fucking living hell." He let out an annoyed laugh.

Mira matched his arrogant smirk.

"You think you can beat Kai? The way you flinched back today seemed to speak of something different." She said, immediately getting punched by an impel. Her dad's one sure did hurt more, but what even was pain?
