Gael after walking for about four hours reached a frigid sight. He let out a startled screech as his eyes widened in fear.
Three skeletons were lying on the ground.
He examined them from his position.
People, real people died here? He let out a shaky breath, then nervously walked closer to the bones. How long were these here for? He did not acquire enough knowledge about human anatomy, having slept through that class during camp; to know how long it took for a body to decay approximately. They could have died yesterday and turned to bones today for all he knew.
He noticed that there was another passage in the corner, and he had not finished ripping off the stupid map. He wanted to head back, not planning on being buddy buddy with the bones quite yet, but as promised he decided to continue until his part of the map was completely torn or he reached Orachi.
So, he kept going further and further, each step caused the darkness to swallow him more. His sight was still helping him, but he could tell the surroundings had gotten a bit darker.
Another two hours had passed but he kept going, suddenly feeling a bit anxious about the entire thing.
Once he traveled a bit further, he started to hear noises.
Noises of a town.
But there were no openings. So, this was definitely not Orachi.
If they headed from the south and this cave led him somewhere which was not Orachi...
Soon an epiphany hit him as he quickly picked up a stone from nearby, sat and drew an estimated map based on their starting position in Ahana and the direction they had traveled in.
If he was correct, this must be Morik.
Which meant that...
Gael's eyes widened in sheer panic. He had to get back.
"FUCK."
Without wasting another second, he made a run for it as his anxiety started coursing through him more and more with each passing second.

"What's wrong Kai?" Chief G asked as Kai suddenly stopped running, in turn halting everyone else.
"I just feel like something..." Kai looked around him. Why did he suddenly feel this apprehensive?
"Do you want to take a break boy?" Gio said, getting a bad feeling too noticing Kai's sudden shift in mood. Kai was never wrong with his guts, and right now he looked tense.
"No sir. Let's just get back home." He said frowning.
They were returning home unsuccessful from their own mission, but even that dent felt nothing compared to the uneasiness Kai felt at the moment. He couldn't quite put a finger on what might be causing it. But his mind kept wandering back to the girl. Was Mira okay?
-
Gael had been desperately running back to reach the beginning of their split only to meet a dead end.
He groaned in frustration; how could this have happened? Why was he that careless?
Why was there suddenly a dead end?
He had to calm down.
He could not think like this. What would Kai do? What would his da-
"Gael? Is that you?" He sighed in relief when he heard Ares' voice. He then teleported towards the voice to finally find them and get out of the end caused by big boulders.
"We have to go there." He panted as they looked at him confused.
"What's wrong? Our path led us to Orachi..." Ares said, which in turn dilated Gael's eyes more. His forehead creased in frustration as he covered his eyes with his palm in frustration.
"FUCK! No... We have to follow the path Mira and Elias went through." He said.
"We agreed to meet back here, what are you sayi-'' Nina asked, appalled by his behavior.
"I don't have time to explain. Ares, punch the wall. Quick." He instructed, pointing a finger at the place where Mira and Elias started their journey. Without hesitation, Ares started gathering his magic for the hit.
"Why did the paths close?" Nina frowned. Once Ares forced the wall to break, Gael hurriedly ran and the two followed behind.
"What are we doing Gael? I'm so confused. Tell us something man, what's going on?!" Ares asked, frustrated. He was growing more and more concerned.
"I'm a fucking idiot, that's what is doing on! How could I have been so fucking stupid?! We must get Mira and Elias back. The path I followed led most probably to Morik, and if you guys reached Orachi, they are going near Kitsuri. If not Kitsuri, the war zone itself. Either way, we have to get them back here." Gael said exasperated.
"Well Morik is also in the war, so why is Kitsuri a problem specifically? You came back from near Morik right?" Nina asked.
Gael sighed, "The mission Kai and my dad went on is to confront the newer ruler of Kitsuri, he has been causing problems around the border of Ahana's. The chiefs are not happy about this, and they are hiding the issues from the public to prevent any commotion. Dad did not say much about it, but he looked worried. And a mission where Kai and my dad both have to go alongside other chiefs and rogoms is not a fun one. All I know is-" Gael shook his head. They had to remain calm. He was the one leading them, panicking was not the answer.
"-we just have to get them back. There's no other way around it. Let's go."
Ares and Nina grew nervous, but Gael looked firm even though he was spurting out everything in a rush. They had to stay calm and get the two of them back.
"It's okay, for all we know they might be coming back to us. We might even meet them halfway." Ares said and Nina nodded.
"Hopefully." Gael smiled a little, going against his thumping heart.
The trio ran to the top of their capabilities, following the trail Elias and Mira had left.
"If they are okay, we should be meeting them shortly." Gael informed his teammates as they nodded nervously.
Once they walked further, they walked into a dead end.
"A dead end?" Ares frowned.
"The last piece torn from the map stops here..." Nina added with a frown.
-
"Are you feeling better?" Chief G asked Kai as they neared Ahana. Kai shook his head no and sped up towards his hometown. The feeling kept getting worse.
