"You can do it; I believe in you." Mira looked at Kai with a slight glare as he nudged her whilst Elias walked in followed by her sister.
She wondered why he was asking this of her.
"Are you telling me to do this because you find me annoying, or because-"
"Because I find you annoying." He ruffled her head before walking away from her. He greeted the other two and asked them to start training.
Soon enough Gael and Ares walked in.
"Alright, I will test out your combat skills. Gael, you pair up with Nina. You'll go against each other. So Elias, you're against Ares of course."
They all looked at each other, what a peculiar pick. The magics were definitely not compatible.
"Okay, I'll put you through three rounds. For the first one, no magic is allowed. The second one is with magic. For the final and third round, you may also use magic. Calls are only allowed for the third round. First one out of the circle I'll draw soon, loses. So the circle is your boundary. Other ways to win would be if the opposition loses consciousness. There are no rules or limitations, but I will intervene if I feel as if it is going too far. Am I understood?" Kai asked authoritatively and Mira watched him as he spoke.
Kai went around the field drawing two moderately large circles, each for one pairing. Once he had set everything he looked at all of them lined up next to each other.
"This is, by no means, how the competitions exactly go. Know that there are no rounds on the actual day. As this is just a practice, I'll let it operate as such.
The climate during this part of the competition is usually unknown too, so I will try out every possible environment for you guys. But as this is our first combat day, I'll let you off easy.
There have also been times where they switch it up from one versus one to pair versus pair. So either way, we'll practice both. For today it's one versus one. Understood?"They all nodded and went to their positions designated by Kai, each at the opposite sides of the diameter of the circle.
"Go."
Elias stood still.
"Bro attack, or I'll feel bad about attacking." Ares said. Elias stared at him with hesitant eyes as he sighed.
"Fine, I'll go first."
"AHH I'M NOT READY!" Elias ran around the circle as Ares ran towards him.
"YOU CAN DO IT ELIAS. COME ON! I BELIEVE IN YOU." Mira cheered and so Ares glared at her, offended.
"You too. Go Ares..." She added meekly, not really meaning it. She then looked at Kai sheepishly.
"Okay okay, I'll do it. Wait."
On the other circle, Nina waited for Gael to make the first move. As he looked forward to her, he also waited.
Kai sighed, disappointed at the lack of action from them. So he tugged onto Mira's dress's sleeve. "Go."
"Alright, alright. Chillax man."
"Don't call me man." He glared playfully.
Mira nodded and walked as close to Gael as the circle allowed her to.
"Gael, when's your birthday?"
"Huh...? What are you- Ou! Fuck." He fell straight onto the ground. Nina smirked looking towards Kai only to be returned with a neutral expression. She needed to hit him harder to impress Kai.
"Gael, you should get up. You're in a fight right now. And it looks like she's winning." Mira suggested.
"No shit, genius! What are you doing here? Get out- OU OU OU! BITCH STOP IT." He groaned in pain as Nina picked his whole body weight up by pulling on his hair and threw him further away towards the edge.
