Elias waited the next night in front of Mira's house for her to come out. Kai was finally out on a mission again, a more time consuming one this time. He had given them some drills to work on till he was gone. And so, they trained today according to his instructions. But as she had been doing recently, Mira was quite the entire time.
Elias was upset. He had patiently waited days and days for Mira to be ready. For her to come to terms with whatever was bothering her. He had tried everything to make her feel better.
But now, he has had enough.
It was friendship's day today. And he missed his friend. All he wanted was to see her, talk to her about whatever conflict she has been having to deal with alone.
She wasn't alone, he needed her to know it.
"Elias? Hey." Mira whispered out seeing her best friend who she has been avoiding like plague. "I can't talk right now, I'll see you tomorr-"
"No." Elias frowned.
"No?" Mira asked, confused.
"I'm done waiting, M. You tell me what's up with you. I can't deal with seeing you so upset all the time anymore, like I care for you so much and all I want is for you to be happy. Yet you've been completely shutting me off." He gulped seeing her watery eyes, but continued. It needed to be said. "It's unfair. I'm your friend M... While I do think that you don't have to tell me everything especially if you're uncomfortable, I just cannot see you like this every day. How long are you willing to continue this for, M? I'm sorry for barging in like this and being this straightforward but I want you to be able to tell me stuff. Or at least just talk to me again. What's wrong?!"
Seeing Elias's firm eyes, Mira broke down again. She knew it was unfair to him. But she couldn't bring herself to say anything to him. He was her best friend and he had been so patient with her annoying ass recently; he definitely had the right to know.
He took her in his arms.
"I'm sorry M. This was a bad idea. I just- I just hate seeing you like this. You don't have to say anything. I'm sorry I snapped, don't cry please." He said, rubbing the back of her head as she continued crying.
"Can we go somewhere else? Like a quieter place. I'll tell you everything, I promise." She mumbled out alongside those muffled cries.
And so, he guided her near Ahana, as she had always found comfort near it.
"M..." He took her in his arms again as she cried everything out. "Tell me how I can make you feel better. I'll do anything, I promise."
"Go punch Kai." She mumbled as Elias's eyes slightly widened.
So it was about master Kai like he had suspected. But also, he had simultaneously not expected it.
"Give me a week to train and a week for him to return." He smiled slightly as Mira let out a chuckle. Then she broke down again.
She wiped her own tears and looked straight at Elias.
"I'm sorry. For lying about being okay, shutting you off and for not telling you. I'm a mess E, I'm not okay." She said courageously letting it all out.
"It's okay to not be okay." He smiled slightly trying to help her calm down.
"What happened?" He asked after a while.
"E..." She looked at him with those puffy eyes as he nodded, gesturing for her to continue. "I'm hurt."
"I know." He whispered gently.
"Kai. I like Kai. I think I like him more than just liking him." She sobbed as Elias's eyes slightly widened.
"Like... um.. master Kai? That Kai?" He was taken aback by the sudden confession. She sobbed harder at his reaction.
