"Kai, please stop this. This punishment is truly torturous." Mira groaned as she kept getting hit by a rubber band every ten seconds in a random spot around her body. Kai ignored her and kept reading his book.
"I won't do it again, I promise!" She groaned. "Why is Ares not being punished too?"
"Do you want me to hit you with two instead of one?" He asked nonchalantly, flipping through the new book he had just started.
He then watched as a hummingbird flew on top of his book and threw a small scroll.
He frowned once he read the note, he then looked up at the girl sitting, trying to meditate while getting punished, covered with several bruises with some being fresh and others being old, all over her body. All her hard work is visible to anyone willing to understand it.
"Kai, I'm sorry." She groaned and looked up, and gave a small smile when she saw him staring at her.
"Concentrate on your training. Apologizing won't make you a stronger shinobi." He said quickly looking back down at his book before he changed his mind and stopped the rubber bands.
Notice it Mira.
He stared at his book, failing to concentrate on anything but her.
He suddenly felt her dodge a band.
She did it!
He smiled slightly, still looking at his book. It only widened when she dodged another one. She figured out that the bands hitting her had a pattern hitting her and it was not just random.
Kai felt her grin as she dodged another one. Finally she was developing some observational skills, like Kai had hoped.
Mira looked up again, at Kai reading. Good. He had not noticed her cheating his punishment. She smirked a little as she felt like the smartest girl in the world. After all she was outsmarting one of the, if not the smartest man in the village.
"Kai, please stop it." She feigned pain, in order for him to not suspect her. She almost giggled when Kai shook his head at her request. She was playing him so well.
After an hour more of her 'punishment' Kai stopped the bands. Kai looked at her trying to hide her giggles from him. He rolled his eyes, yet walked up to her with a small smile, then ruffled her hair.
"I'm going to give you something." Kai said and she looked at him all excited with a cheshire grin.
"GRAPES?!" She asked excitedly, but he shook his head no and chuckled.
"No, but pay attention, it's important." He said and she immediately stopped giggling around and looked up at him with a lot of concentration.
"See this ball? I want you to try and spin it on your fingertips. Like this." He demonstrated it for her.
"Okay." She listened and tried it herself. The ball spun about thrice before falling off.
"Do this for the next three hours, or for as long as it takes for you to learn to keep it spinning like that for forty minutes at least." He instructed. She looked at him with confusion.
"But, I'm supposed to get off in two hours. It's already five thirty in the evening." She said. Kai looked at her, what could make her stay longer without asking him questions?
"Don't ask questions." He warned.
That should do it. Although that actually never does for her. The blatant amount of brattiness she shows him was almost absurd.
"Okay now do it." He asked. She nodded trying to start the practice. And much to his annoyance, after one and a half hours she finally learned to stabilize the ball.
