For the past hour Mira had requested, groveled, begged, fake cried and almost real cried. Yet nothing, and nothing was working on Nina. She really badly wanted a dress to wear, look all dolled up and pretty for once but her bitch sister would not let that happen now, would she?
"No. Leave my room."
And with that she got shoved out of Nina's room. And what a lavish one it was. Her closet was the size of her room and her bathroom of the size of Elias'.
She walked out of the house through the front door. Her father had been out since morning, guess that was a good thing about him being a chief. They don't get days off.
She felt the need to walk over at Kai's in order to train more. Last night was a failure but totally worth it. She felt good, great even, so her motivation for it had increased vastly. But she needed to go over to Elias' first as promised, it was nearly lunch time.
Whilst walking towards the orphanage, two boys caught her eyes resting underneath a tree. Ares' dark skin was glowing under the sun, or was it his sweat? Gael's face on the other hand was hidden with a giant leaf.
"Hey guys!" She asked. "Why are you hiding your face?"
"That stupid fucking light from the stupid fucking sun is fucking up with my sleep since fucking morning." He groaned. Mira removed the leaf which instigated a more annoyed and louder groan.
"Bitch get the fuck away if you're going to annoy me." Gael said with his eyes shut as Mira giggled.
"How gentlemanly. Is it that time of the month?" Gael groaned at her words. Mira then smiled to herself and asked, "So um... does that mean you like the moon more?"
Gael finally opened his eyes and glared at his weird friend.
"When do people rest Mira?" Ares asked finally.
"At night?" She asked back.
"So of course he likes the moon more. Also, where are you off to?" He asked.
"To Elias' place, and why are you sweating?" She asked back.
"Why are you going to him? And you say it like he has a house. It's an orphanage for fucks sake." Ares rolled his eyes. Gael got up finally, sighed and punched Ares in his gut within a split second, before Mira could even start to shout. Ares held onto his gut and groaned. Surprising Mira with his lack of aggression towards Gael. Instead, he just looked at him with furrowed brows.
"Don't do that. You sound like the entitled assholes calling themselves elite." Gael glared at his best friend.
"They are entitled because they earned that position plus you are an elite too!" Ares complained.
"Please Ares! As if you aren't half an orphan yourself." He rolled his eyes at Ares' hurt look. "See? Doesn't feel good now does it?"
After that the environment got quiet for a while. The awkward calm got interrupted by the cause when Gael cleared his throat.
"Look I'm sorry bud, I didn't want to hurt you but this is how Elias feels if not worse. You've heard it once and he has his whole life. And there's nothing elite about being born in a family. It's the actions which makes one elite. I sleep all the time in my lavish bed while that boy is earning to feed like thirty other kids. Nothing about me is elite." Gael rolled his eyes then followed it by a screech when a pair of hands pinched his cheeks.
"Fuck! Let go, you crazy bitch!" He screeched as she giggled. Ares looked at the two of them, feeling a bit stupid about himself.
After she got away from Gael, Mira looked at Ares and sighed. "He's right, you know? If you ever feel like being rude then do it to me, but please treat him well. He deserves it the most amongst us."
