Mira glared at Kai whilst running towards their destination.
"What?" He asked after ignoring it for about five minutes. Turns out it doesn't go away that way.
"You're a rogom." She stated.
"Well spotted." He replied with a grin.
"I'm sure you make plenty of greins. So why not a carriage?" She glared. "Why are we running? And how far away is this place exactly?"
"We run faster than the carriages. And think of it as training." He shrugged.
"It's pretty far isn't it? If you're ignoring my question it must be far far away." Mira groaned.
"You'll be fine." Kai said. He was trying to keep down with Mira so that they could go side by side, and she does not get tired trying to keep up with him.
With that speed however, it took them about nine hours to cover half way to their initial destination. Mira was huffing and puffing by then.
"Want to take a break?" Kai asked and she tried desperately to say yes, but she struggled to even breathe let alone speak.
"I'll take that as a yes." He helped her settle down and took out some water for her. He was a bit more concerned than normal due to her fever last night.
"Feeling better?" Kai asked after a while.
"I'm hungry." She pouted.
"We're in the middle of the forest trouble, where do you suppose I get food for us from?" He asked.
"I don't know, that's for you to find out." She shrugged.
"There's a small town nearby, if you run faster in about six more hours we might be able to reach it." Kai said in thought.
"Six hours?! And faster running?" Mira gasped. That's a lot of running. How was he perfectly alright, not even slight breathiness.
Mira groaned but then an idea popped in her head. She tried to hide her smile.
"Come on trouble, we have to get there on time. If we get to Ridgewood, we can rest till tomorrow morning." He negotiated.
She groaned drastically, making sure to exaggerate it as much as she could.
"Are you okay?" He asked when her naughty expression changed to a pained one within seconds.
"I feel sick, Kai." She whined. "Maybe you should carry me on your back till we reach town."
Kai tried looking at her, trying to hide his smile whilst looking at the melodrama.
"Ah-ha." He said, amused.
"Yes I'm so so tired. Maybe it's the aftermath of the fever. And now my feet, ouch my feet!" She said and Kai laughed at her.
"Just get on my back brat." He smiled and helped her out as she jumped on it.
"Thank you Kai." She giggled.
They took three hours after that.
"You said six hours Kai, you must measure time much differently." Mira sarcastically said.
"I said six hours if you run fast." He said putting emphasis on the word you. She pouted at his insult.
"Hey, you trained me!"
"And I failed terribly, given that I'm carrying you." Kai taunted, now walking as they were about to enter the town.
"But I'm so, so, so sick." Mira pouted.
"Sure." Kai laughed. "Get down now, we're here. Or are you too sick to walk too?"
Mira shook her head so he let Mira down gently on the ground.
