"SURPRISE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" The trio screamed as Ares stared in shock.

Elias wiped a string of sweat and grinned at his friend. It was all worth it. Mira and Gael also smiled looking at Ares' face.

Mira had finally been able to get Kai to do everything smoothly. Well almost smoothly because he kicked her out right after, not listening to another word from her mouth.

"You guys did all this? Thank you so much!" Ares grinned and then looked at Elias.

"Wait so you guys aren't fighting?" He asked Elias.

"You told him too Elias?! I can't believe you right now." Mira glared, her mood swiftly changing to anger.

"M, no. He's talking about Gael and I." Elias said.

"We're fighting?" Gael raised an eyebrow looking at Elias.

"You're not?" Ares asked, shifting his gaze between the two.

"I told you M is dead to you." Mira angrily huffed at Elias.

"What's happening guys?" Ares asked, confused by the sudden tension.

"We had an agreement Mira, stop." Gael warned.

"Without me? What kind of agreement?" Ares furrowed his brows.

Elias groaned.

"I'm sorry M-" He met Mira's aggravated gaze and corrected himself. "Mirabelle..."

"Mirabelle?" Ares asked with raised eyebrows. What was happening?

"Long story." Gael rolled his eyes.

"Not that long." Mira glared and he glared back.

"Every story is too long and drab. Can we just be civil like we agreed and enjoy this fucking get together for Ares. Please?!" Gael glared and Mira sighed, nodding in agreement.

"I'm still so confused about the drama I missed out on." Ares said and Gael shushed him.

"Get over it. Let's cut your- um cake , I guess." Gael referred to the leaning thing they baked which barely registered as cake. But at least it was done.

"Woah guys! This is exactly what I wanted. A leaning cake! IT'S SO COOL!" Ares screamed out of joy as they stared at him with widened eyes.

"Really?" Mira asked.

"Of course. You guys know me so well." Ares said, mesmerized by the cake as Mira and Gael fist-bumped with a shrug. If the shoe fits.

They celebrated during the day and then as the sun set, bid goodbye to get ready for the party.

Mira was slightly nervous, the only thing making her feel better was that Elias was going to be there too.

Even though she was not too happy with him right at this instant she was glad he was going to be there. Or else she wouldn't have gone either.

She dressed up wearing the same good dress she had been recycling recently. She did not mind, she liked the dress. Would she prefer a different one? Maybe, but she liked this one too.

She watched as her dad and sister got into the magical carriages and left. What was harder to miss, she wondered: the giant carriage or her sister's repulsive smirk.

She preferred walking anyway. Would she ride on the carriage if given the chance to? Maybe, but she liked walking.

Mira smiled sadly.

One day maybe.

For now, she had to run. She was going to be late either way.

And as predicted she was. Entering the crowded hall, she looked around feeling out of place. Her eyes wandered in search of a certain someone.
