Lando's POV
"I'm just downstairs... I'm having issues at reception again! This guy hates me I swear..." I whine down the phone to Lucy as I shoot a dirty look towards the same guy on reception as last time.
"Did you forget your ID?" Lucy asks and I can already see the smug look her face as I run my hands through my hair again.
"I may have... I don't really walk around with it. Normally the face is enough," I say cockily and hear Lucy's somewhat familiar laughter down the phone line. "I've tried Daisy. I mean Astera," I say pointedly as I look at the receptionist. "Astera Caterina Giovanna Valentina Rossi! I mean seriously? Who else would know that?" I exclaim frustratedly towards the receptionist who remains steady in his glare towards me as I continue holding up people who are similarly trying to get to one of the many offices upstairs. "Please help me."
"Put me on," Lucy says and I pass the phone over to him, watching as he looks at it like I'm diseased before he accepts the call. Within seconds he is laughing and a minute later the phone is handed back to me along with a guest pass.
"Thank you for nothing," I mutter to the guy before sincerely thanking Lucy and hanging up. I walk back towards the security gates, once more not dressed as everyone else is and aware that I'm standing out in the crowd as I pull my cap a little further down my head. I continue through the building and up in the elevator, vaguely nervous as I check the bags in my hands... this might have been a mistake but when Ash had told me Daisy had no meetings today, I found myself coming early to meet her at the office.
I wave at Lucy as I successfully navigate myself to Daisy's area, the blonde currently stood outside the door I'm intending to enter.
"I hope one of those bags is for me," Lucy smiles and I roll my eyes as I pass her the bag in question as I try and peer into the office only to see that the blinds have been pulled.
"I thought she had no meetings?"
"She's Daisy... most of the time that doesn't matter," Lucy quips back and I can't help but smile at the nickname being used by someone else. Especially someone that knows her as Astera.
"She's going to kill you the first time she hears you say that..." I warn Lucy lightly and the blonde smirks as she walks away shaking her head.
"I don't think so."
"Why not?" I frown as she opens the door to her own office with amusement written clearly on her face.
"Well she smiled at me when I said it this morning..."
On that bombshell, she goes back into her pristine office and leaves me standing outside Daisy's by myself. The smile on my face is stupid, I know that, wider than I think it's ever been as this feels like I'm walking on clouds. I'm only brought out of my thoughts as Tegan and Christine come to find me for their food before they return to their own offices and I remember why I'm here in the first place. I knock lightly on the door and am amused when Ash opens it looking somewhat shell shocked.
"Lando, thank god... I didn't know someone could talk so much and she's not even talking to me. I feel mighty sorry for whoever is on the other end of that phone. This is the most energetic call yet," Ash mutters before ushering me into the room and I instantly hear what he's saying as Daisy is now talking fluently in Italian. I pick up just enough words to let me catch onto the conversation as I chuckle.
"It's her mum..." I say softly with a smile before I clear my throat and watch her spin around in surprise. What follows is a series of mumbled Italian words that I think only make me smile wider before she slowly puts the phone back down on it's holder on her desk and checks her watch.
