Lando's POV

"So..." I say casually as Max and I walk down the fifteenth green, my patience now wearing thin as I look over at him, trying to be relaxed. Daisy was back at the clubhouse shmoozing whoever was around and I was out here with Max for the charity match, just the two of playing and raising money as we did. We'd had a lot of fun today, trading teasing comments to one another when we had mic's attached to us.

Fortunately though the cameras finally seemed to have had enough of us and we'd been allowed to take the microphones off for the last couple of holes so that we could just talk the two of us. I was pleased because I hadn't managed to get a moment alone with him all day because Daisy was the first up out of all of us and then we'd been surrounded by people the rest of the day - worse still by cameras as well. God knows how given she had polished off almost two bottles of wine by herself and yet she seemed to have unlimited energy and I could no longer tell what hours of the day she slept. She had tried to hide the evidence but I noticed the second bottle in the bin when I was tidying up the little mess that had remained.

I was starting to get jealous of his blue and beige combination today which was a lot cooler temperature wise than mine. My all black get up was proving to be a light regret but it was Daisy's only ask of me, that I wore all of my golf collection with Nike. The agreement with them had grown more than anyone had ever believed it might. It felt like every time Daisy was on a call with them the deal expanded even further outwards and because of my interest in golf... we had a shirt and trousers set that I was now wearing every time I was filmed playing the game. Black with the neon yellow tick and my logo in the corner - very minimalist but good for money.

All thanks to Daisy.

"Yeah?" He asks me, seemingly as relaxed as I was pretending to be. I'd have believed him if I hadn't noticed the side-eye underneath his cap as he looked through his notebook for the course.

"W-what were you and Daisy talking about yesterday?" I ask him after another moment, making sure that my eyes never leave his face. I'm determined that if he's lying to me, I'm going to make damn well sure that he knows I know. His eyes widen briefly before he looks away and clears his throat - an instant notification not to trust a word coming out of his mouth.

"The dinner?" He says the words quickly while starting to slow down and look around for his caddy. He was clearly trying to avoid me but our balls managed to land close together on this fairway and I know that there will be no way that I let him.

"You sure? Because I was thinking about it last night," when I couldn't sleep because I had never stopped panicking about my stupid, stupid mistake. "And I realised that didn't really add up... because why would she not include me?"

"Well erm... she didn't want to put you in a bad situation with Elena because she just wanted it to be us. She wanted to check with me first what I thought... then you came over to interrupt us," he shrugs, inspecting the club passed to him by the caddy and still refusing to look me in the eyes. I keep a smile on my face as I turn to grab my club from my caddy and watch him do a practice shot before taking his actual shot. "I mean... what else would she be asking me about?" He challenges when he turns back around and suddenly I feel my mouth go dry. My head snaps back from where my eyes had tracked the ball to the green to find him facing me, doing exactly what I had done to him moments before as he looks at me to find the lie.

I was so surprised by the question that I dropped the club on my back swing out of surprise and the cheers from those around us let me know that everyone had seen it. I go to answer him but immediately struggle, coughing lightly and when the air just feels like it gets harsher and harsher in my throat. I motion for my caddy to pass me water as there is some jeering from the fans who have come out for the golf tournament we're at today. When I finally regain enough composure, I'm saved from answering as it seems my dramatics have brought the cameras right back alongside us. Max is still dying of laughter when I take steps away from him and take the shot again, for all intents and purposes seemingly forgetting what it was that caused me to get so clumsy.
