7 ~ The Pitch

Daisy's POV

"Christine can you check with Fitzpatrick on the clothing deal and look at Jude's boots as well. I believe they're both up for renewal and I think post World Cup we can get Jude a boosted deal - he was a superstar. Regardless, we should upgrade the design to help with sales?" I suggest as we sit in my office in New York, the three members of my team sat in front of me, all of us with our laptops out in front of us.

Christine is the newest member, she's wicked smart though and we're helping give her a scholarship while she works part time for us. Plus she has good instincts and she's good at knowing when things get too hard or too big, quick to ask for help which means nothing falls apart.

Then there's Lucy and Tegan, both been with me longer, proper qualified agents who manage a lot of the day to day with my clients but have a couple of their own as well. Lucy's been with me the longest, since we were both interns and although she was offered to be a junior agent at a number of firms when her internship finished but she refused the offer, asking instead to work with me. As a result, we've become very close in the last couple of years. It helps that I can rely on her... especially after Luke's indiscretions with my best friend back in England. Fuck them both. I guess.

"Of course, are you wanting to stick with the current provider?" She asks and I pause before shrugging.

"I'll ask Jude, I'm calling him in an hour and then I'll get back to you on it. We've not had any dramas or supplier issues?" I check and the three look at each other before nodding in sync with one another, in a way that amuses me. Christine was the youngest, the intern of the three but I liked giving her a couple of simple calls to make, the actual information then making its way up to me before I turn to the two agents in front of me. "Okay and NFL... we have no shocks coming our way for our players? Next year is the big year for both?" I check and Lucy agrees quickly. "Okay well it's important to start fielding stuff now, subtly. At least try and understand if they're happy with their teams?" I suggest to her because she handles them directly herself now.

"Yes, I also just wanted to get an opinion on my client, if that's okay?" She asks and I quickly nod for her to do so. "We're expecting a top ten in the draft but it's uncertain where he might go and I'm worried about one not picking him and then having him falling down the order... if he doesn't go top ten, he might end up in the second round purely from confusion," she explains, handing me the paper and I glance over it as I try to absorb the information before passing it back to her.

"Right, well... feel free to tell me if you need the time to make sure this is in order. This is the biggest moment of this young guys career and he deserves a top ten pick so call everyone, starting at the top to make sure it's going to happen... Texans would be a good fit in all likeliness, see if you can encourage them to fight for him at the top end of the draft... after that, make sure there's someone in the top twenty that will absolutely take him if he does fall out of the top ten," I instruct and she quickly writes everything down. I open my mouth to offer to make calls myself before trying to remember that this is her big break and her big client. "Okay, Grealish and Bellingham - anyone got anything to update me on there?"

"Yeah, both have campaigns starting next we-" Tegan goes to fill me in, her Welsh accent standing out from the two Americans but we're interrupted by Lena my assistant poking her head around the door.

"Sorry but it's..." she pauses as she lifts the phone to her ear again, "Fewtrell? Says he's with-"

"Right yes. Sweet... can we pick this all up in the next five minutes?" I ask the team quickly as I stand up and walk over to my desk, the four of them walking out the door with knowing smiles on their faces as they nod. "Also Lucy - not to overstep but if you need anything?"
