68 ~ Two of Hearts

Daisy's POV

"Okay... I'm not seeing any issues with it?" I say the statement more as a question, sitting with Lisa upstairs on one of the balcony's from the second living room area we found when searching for a place to work away from the disapproving eyes of... well everyone to be honest. I've already been told twice that we're on holiday and that I'm not meant to be working but Lisa just saw the look in my eyes when I walked over to her at midday and grinned, knowing full well that I wasn't going to relax until the deal was signed.

"No it looks pretty perfect... this is an insane contract Ast... like it's so good for everyone," she says in amazement. "It's like art... or porn for sports agents," she laughs while looking back through the clauses in disbelief and I had to agree. Anyone related to this contract was going to win big - especially Lando and obviously me but it felt good to hear it. 

"As long as the car is good," I say nervously, the one thing I can't control and while I had faith that the German team was going to get themselves sorted, I couldn't guarantee it. However, with more engine focused regulations, smaller cars, Adrian Newey retiring at the end of this year and James Allison staying at Mercedes... it felt like a perfect storm for a good car.

"Well, you're only in control of so much. We can get this signed whenever - they already have," she points out Toto's signature on one of the pages and I hum, flicking back up to the top as I begin to read through every line again, looking for issues that I might have missed before. "Ast... it's good. Stop," she begs lightly, putting a hand over mine as she urges me to stop. I pull away from where I was squinting at the screen... maybe I do need some glasses... and to learn how to chill out.

"Yeah... okay, we can go," I affirm reluctantly as we both close down our devices and she laughs at me as I stretch, feeling tightness across my body from all the travelling. Even though I hadn't been awake for that long, I was officially tired now.

"You rented this place out and you're not even letting yourself enjoy it you crazy person!" She laughs as we walk back downstairs, almost tripping over baby Adam where he is using the first step to try and figure out how to stand up.

"I will enjoy it... when everything is signed and sorted!" I respond, putting the iPad under one arm as I pick Adam up and we walk outside. I locate Ollie quickly before carefully dropping him into his lap where he is sitting in the shade. "Your baby was by the concrete stairs," I inform him and he looks anxiously at his child, lifting him to check him before looking back at me.

"Good thing there's a nerd like you around," he says simply focusing on his son. "In my defence I did leave him in the play pen," he explains and I shrug as I pour myself some lemonade from the table in front of him.

"Newsflash... he can get out," I reply simply and he hums as before throwing him lightly in the air.

"Apparently you can rockstar! Let's go!" Ollie says enthusiastically. I smile at the pair as I locate his wife and Mila in the pool with Cisca and Lucy's husband Damon.

"Just not up the stairs!" I remind him and he agrees as I look around the pool. There's a bunch of people outside currently, most of whom are soaking up the sunshine with Max and Lando playing what looks to be a rather intense game of keepy-uppy with a football in the green area past the pool. I didn't really know what to do now that the contract was done... I guess I was meant to relax until I could get Lando to sign the document in question. In the absence of a plan, I leave my iPad on the table in the shade with Ollie, asking him to keep an eye on it before I head down to the pool as well, stripping off the loose summer dress I'd been wearing over my black low cut, low back swimsuit before lying down next to where Lucy had settled.
