25. No Time To Prepare

Chrissy, Eve, and I shop for a couple of hours. Chrissy even got a few new things and I bought things that I put in my basket she didn't even see or notice but Eve sure did as she smirked many times. Couldn't pass up the sales that the store had and getting Chrissy more gifts is never a bad thing either.

Eventually, we do make it to other stores all in which was just as much fun with Chrissy and Eve as they were with Nicolas. Maybe a bit funnier with Chrissy and Eve with how we joke around, especially about some of the mannequins outfits or the way their arms were while wearing the outfits like they have a voice. Still those things are very odd since most don't' have a face to them and could be in some horror film.

There is officially a couple gifts I have for Nicolas. A ridiculous looking 3D figure of a plane and then I found a very nice leather belt to go with those dark wash jeans he has that his brown belt doesn't seem to match just right. Along with a couple odds and ends like a notebook and calendar for his desk just because they looked nice as a set at the craft store, plus some new pens since for a writer it was hard finding a pen several times on his desk and his cup thing was empty of any.

"Anyone ready for some food?" I ask while we just simply walk through the shopping centers middle passing stores by.

"Me." Chrissy nods as Eve pushes her once more.

"Count me in because I can always use some food and the pregnancy has nothing to do with that." Eve laughs.

We get in our vehicles once I put in our bags and I make sure to shove a couple of them in the food bag to help hide the gifts until I get them home. Thankfully I did get one roll of wrap paper because of Nicolas's items I need to wrap up and even though they aren't going to be the prettiest wrap jobs done it will be fun to watch him open them.

Making it to the resturant, I help Chrissy get inside and Eve follows in as we make it to the table. Our waiter brings over chips and salsa while taking our drink orders. Chrissy points to what she is wanting and I make the mental note of it all since she doesn't order on her own without the issues and people get to impatient with her.

Once our food order is placed, we get to talk about random things and life in general how it is for all three of us. There is nothing but laughter and happy moods around the table. Eve smiles wide and waves at someone behind me and being curious I look behind me.

There is a woman that looks identical to Eve just a bit more aged looking walking over with Massie.

"Hey Natalie!" Massie smiles and hugs me tight from the side.

"Hi there. I am Holly." The lady smiles and I smile back.

"Mama this is Natalie, Natalie. As in Bubs, Natalie." Eve smiles wide and winks at me when I turn back to her and can feel my eyes go wide.

"Oh that is amazing! I have been dying to meet you but with work and then Nicolas has kept you to himself other than when Eve isn't hanging out with you guys too." Holly smiles and rambles.

"Would you like to join us?" I offer since finding out this woman is Eve's and Nicolas's mom.

"Girl, I had no idea the date details and things we have chatted about is my nephew." Massie smiles and claps her hands lightly.

"It is funny I never thought to put two and two together everyone talking about a Natalie and never thought it could be the same person." Holly laughs and I join her.

They sit down and we all get to talking, I already knew what Nicolas's mom done just didn't know her name because they always called her Mama. Both Massie and Holly tells us they are just waiting on their orders to come out so they won't be joining the entire time since they are technically on their lunch breaks with the shift they are working.

Once their food comes out Holly tells me how she would love to have me over for dinner either Christmas Eve or Christmas day depending since she didn't know how my family done things. Holly kisses Eve's head and bids us all a good evening as Massie hugs us all, even Chrissy, and bids the same.

At this point Chrissy and I plan on spending breakfast together on Christmas day at the very least with Dad since he works that night and Mom will be around.

One thing I know is that I am a little nervous to meet Jack, Nicolas's father. Now with knowledge of meeting him within a short time. There was no time to prepare meeting Holly but I really do like how bubbly her personality is and can tell how much she loves Nicolas and Eve.

"Are you sure it is okay if I came to Christmas dinner? It is your birthday after all too and I wouldn't want to intrude." I look to Eve, since Chrissy done said 'go' when talking over the plans once Holly and Massie left.

"Oh, I would love to have you there and even you too Chrissy." Eve smiles and wiggles in her seat with so much excitement.

"Project." Chrissy smiles.

"Chrissy has been spending Christmas watching a couple of her favorite movies and working on a crafting project." I explain more for Eve.

Even if we haven't celebrated the holiday in years, Chrissy has done things on her own in her own room.

"Mom." Chrissy looks to me and then hands her phone.

Reading over the text, Chrissy explains that our mother wants to spend the evening crafting and watching television with her as they have started doing it once more just like old times together. It makes a tear come to my eye that I blink back because I didn't know that Mom has been truly getting back to her old self and I couldn't be happier for it. Mom and I never done much together but we would go for walks together weather permitting, so it may be something I ask soon when not so overly cold that my teeth chatter within ten minutes of being out doors.

The food finally comes out after they have been busy. We all eat, talk, and laugh as the minutes tick by without a care what time it actually is. It has been such a blast just getting in girl time that was much needed for the three of us it would seem.
