Never for the life of me did I think giving birth was like that. How Natalie done it is beyond me but I look at her and all women in an all new light for how strong they truly are no matter how birth is given.
At one point Aunt Massie was teasing me asking if I needed to get the epidural. That thing terrified me even more due to the size of the needle but I can see how that made Natalie feel better.
"Here you go Dad." The nurse smiles wide while laying Chrisopher in my arms. "He is six pounds seven ounces."

He is the perfect mix of Natalie and me as there is similiar features of us each on his little face. Chrisopher was born roughly an hour ago and Natalie has got to spend the last hour chest to chest with him it has been the best to ever see. So this is the very time I am officially holding my son, I am a Dad, something I wasn't sure I ever be and here it is at thirty-one years old.
Natalie had been in labor for more than twenty-four hours as it is the very late at night since we came in from her water breaking. So Aunt Massie is the only one that has known of course since she delivered Chrisopher as both our families are sleeping.
I look up and see that my Angel is looking over at me holding our son while I sit in the chair next to her bed. Her eyes slowly drooping in exhaustion.
"He is perfect." She whispers.
"That he is and you are amazing." I smile then stand slowly holding him in my arms secure. I lean over and gently peck her lips to pull up to look at our son once again.
Time passes by while I was not even paying attention to the clock. Through the hours, Natalie and I are shown how to feed him then Natalie went to sleep while I been watching our son.
It is like I can not take my eyes off him for any length of time. My eyes bounce between him and Natalie sleeping peacefully.
"Good morning." Natalie smiles while sitting up only to wince a little. "You didn't sleep." She states looking at me.
"I couldn't just to hyped up from everything." I smile and don't even feel the least bit tired still.
I help her to the bathroom even though she says she has it. She thanks me while I hand her some clean clothes since she can now go back to her own and when she steps out it takes my breath away. Natalie is just seems to be even more gorgeous as if that would even have been possible.
Natalie and I get my phone then one by one we facetime our families. The whisper screams filter through as Natalie is holding Chrisopher so they see the three of us all together immediately. It makes us laugh each time and I laugh harder when Mama hands Dad a tissue while she needed one for herself. Everyone promises to visit very soon today but it is nice that they are spaced out due to things they have to do but makes it to where this tiny room we been in don't get overly crowded because I doubt everyone will fit in here all at once.
Over the day our families come in and gush over Chrisopher. For the very first time in decades I think of my birth mom and wonder if she would be happy. Hollie is in all sense my mama too and I will forever see her as my mom since I just barely remember my birth mom. One thing that hits me is the small mark on the side of Chrisopher's face and I remember my birth mom having the same birth mark. It looks like a small sparrow just in the hairline area by his right temple area.
It is dinner time and my parents are finally making it in for the first time. Mama hugs Natalie while Dad hugs me tight then they move to look at our sleeping baby boy since Natalie had just fed him again.
"He is handsome. The perfect mix of you both." Mama smiles and then moves to sit next to Natalie on the bed holding a small bag.
"This is some dessert for the both of you. Jewels said you had dinner." Mama smiles.
"Her and Tony brought us some Italian for dinner." Natalie smiles wide.
"Has everyone visited?" Dad looks to us since he was next to the bassinet.
"Yes you guys were the last ones to meet him." Natalie nods with a smile still. All day we been nothing but smiles.
"How did your Mom, Dad and Chrissy react?" Mama gets to talking with Natalie.
"They love him so very much. I hadn't seen Dad get teary like that in a hot minute." Natalie giggles.
"Babies seem to make all these grown tough men become giant teddy bears." Mama laughs.
"You can pick him up Jack." Natalie snickers. Her eyes soften as she looks to him and then I look over to see Dad holding in his tears.
"He has the same birthmark as she had." Dad stutters trying to get his emotions under control.
Getting up from the chair, I step next to Dad only for him to pull me to him in a side hug. "I was thinking the same earlier. I don't remember much of Mom but I can remember the small red sparrow like birthmark she had."
"We have a little Birdie." Dad chuckles as a tear slips down his cheek.
Mama kisses Dads cheek and smile gently while she goes to pick up Chrisopher. Dad has told me many stories of my biological mom and even Mama has repeated things she had been told from Dad and Uncle Tony to me. Mama has never once pushed it off and has always made she had things of my biological mom with Dad in our living room too.
"Tony never mentioned it." Natalie smiles while watching my parents hold Chrisopher.
"He may not have noticed. It isn't something he may remember of Isabelle, because she kept her hair down to hide it most of the time." Dad smiles softly.
"Well I love the nickname for him and it is very fitting a little Birdie." Natalie kisses Chrisopher's temple where the birthmark lays since she got up for a moment.
Mama and Dad leave after a little more visting.
Natalie and I settle in for the night with hopes that we will be going home tomorrow as a family as three. Natalie pats the bed and I join her as the television on the wall has on a Christmas movie and our sweet little boy in his bassinet, fed and sleeping soundly.
"I love you Angel. There is not enough words to describe how unbelievably happy I am with you and our son." I kiss her lips tenderly.
"I love you so much Nicolas. Thank you for this amazing life." Natalie smiles.
"No thank you for being there to Save My Sparkle, Angel."
She kisses me tenderly and lay with her in my arms until it is time for Chrisopher to be fed and need tending too.
