Today has been an overly busy day but it has been nothing but fun times. This morning was a shopping trip with all the ladies for Hinsel, Eve has the nursery decked out in blues and grays. Duke and a couple of his buddies had painted it the day after finding out the gender that was a little over a week ago.
Currently, I am packing my bag while Nicolas packs his bag.
"Do you think Tootles will really be okay without us for a couple of days?" I look to our fur baby as he watches our every movement.
"He will be in good hands." Nicolas pets his head lightly.
After our little fun time on the couch and then slept, I asked Nicolas to come with me on this work trip. I have to go for three nights one for a dinner, next day for a luncheon, and then finally a small speaking cemerony for the Counselors in our region. Why is must be held outside our city is beyond me and I have had to do it twice before in the last several years if the other Counselors don't take the trip sense how they tend to enjoy it and the extra pay. Plus we do get to take a plus one and mine is of course Nicolas.
Tootles is staying with Eve and Duke since she is now on bed rest after her last appointment. All she has to do is let him out in the back yard because he doesn't roam he just does his business and right back in. Tootles and Eve will give each other company while we have to be out of town.
"Is that everything?" I look over to Nicolas.
He goes through the mental list we spoke about and we both nod. "If not I am sure there is places around to get the things we may need."
"True. Just have to get a taxi." I sigh and we put together Tootles food and dishes to take with us to Eve's.
I texted Chrissy and my parents that we are fixing to leave for the airport as they asked me too last night. Chrissy has loved having Bubbles, she even does go on trips around the block on her own and even into town to some stores that are easy accessable for her wheelchair. Just what we had been wanting for her and Bubbles helps her in so many ways that we didn't even realize we helped in that now she is doing on her own.
Nicolas grabs the leash incase they need it and then all the bags on his shoulders, while I get Tootles in the car. The drive is not long enough and having to be away from Tootles is actually feeling so hard. I don't want to leave him behind but he can't stay in the hotel all day long and the one the hospital set us up in has the no pets allowed which is no fair in my opinion.
I kiss his head many times and then get out of the car with Nicolas as we walk up to Eve's door. Duke answers it and smiles wide when seeing Tootles. "He is a cutie and will be well cared for."
"If not spoiled!" Eve comes up as we step inside. She takes Tootles from my hands and he licks her just like he does when she has came to the house.
"Not to much human food and if you don't want him to get diarrhea, don't let him have any fries. He will beg like crazy and even though no salt he will have the runs so none of those." Nicolas laughs.
"That is just fine because I know he likes cheese as much as his Aunt Eve does." Eve giggles and rubs his head while he is in her one arm.
They bid us a safe flight and we leave out to the airport.
"He will be fine Angel." Nicolas looks over to me.
"I know Eve loves him so much too. I just don't want to leave him."
"I know Angel, I know." Nicolas smiles softly at me.
We go through the process and the flight is smooth. When we land, we get our bags and then hail a taxi to make it to our hotel. Once we make it to the room there is an hour before the dinner I have to attend, so we both get ready and then make it to the area that I had to sign in.
"Here are our seats." I whisper to Nicolas.
He holds my chair out and then sits next to me.
"Ever so the gentleman." I tease as I normally do when he still does that.
He smirks and I can tell by the look in his eyes that we will not be sleeping for a bit once back at the hotel. Which is more than good with me because seeing him in a tux has me hot and majorly bothered.
A throat clears and a waiter holds out his bottle of wine to fill the glasses. I put my hand over mine. "No thank you. If I may have some lemon water please?"
"Of course." The waiter nods after filling Nicolas's glass.
"No wine tonight?" Nicolas looks to me since I normally have one or two glasses during the week.
"Not when I see it is red wine." I am a wine sob in a way. I enjoy wine but not red wine I have never found one I like it tends to be the sour wine for all I have tried.
Nicolas chuckles since I figure he knew having us already been over it many of times in teasing fun. I like white and the rose wines, while not a huge fan of the strong whiskey drinks either.
Our food is ordered within a short time and the large square shape table is filled with others holding the same degree and job as myself. Nothing confindental is being told as that is against the law, but there is a main speaker telling and explaining new resources coming out to help us better ourselves for our patients.
At one point my hand creeps over to Nicolas' thigh as his eyes have long since glazed over from his daydreaming. I am bored out of my mind also, yet there is still a luncheon and a breakfast left to go through over all the same things as there is tonight. I already got the emails and brochures last week. This is pointless to say the least as I don't attend the private sessions that is only for counselors to attend as I don't have a need too.
So for the rest of this dinner let's have some fun unbeknownst to anyone else.
