Dinner last night was the absolute best ever with Nicolas. There is really nothing he couldn't do in my eyes. Makes me beyond curious to see what all else he can do or is experienced with.
Technically, I am off work the rest of the day. Thankfully Nicolas never asks my work schedule he just goes with the flow on what I say and it is one thing I love about him. He never asks more than I give when it comes to my job other than making sure I have had a good day, someone a lot of people really could learn from because by law I am sworn to secret only in a few cases should I get the police or authorities in involved but I still can't just go telling anyone else that isn't needing to be involved because I will not face jail time or a massive fine.
Since I am off the clock, I need at least one more Christmas gift with it only being two days before the big holiday. I have to find something for Nicolas.
I know. I have been lagging and I hate it but I am also at a lost. What do I get my boyfriend for Christmas? Especially when it seems he can buy what he wants and is so very basic, never having a want for material things. Plus hard to buy for him when I have spent all my free time between him, Chrissy, and Dad. Since Mom is still fickle on everything but has at least been joining us in the living room just slow about talking still but her phone is not been a concern when she is with us so it has been nice.
With a twist of my key the front door unlocks and Chrissy looks to me instantly.
"How has your day been?" I walk over after shutting the door and removing the coat then boots.
"Good." Chrissy smiles while holding up her latest project.
"That looks great." I smile over her shoulder once moving over to where she is sat with the lamp over her shoulder to help her see more since she is doing small needle work while her favorite shows play on the television.
This needle work is a Christmas pattern she has been going to town with. It has snowmen and an entire winter wonderland scene behind them that is so enhancing. Chrissy has a way with the needle, thread and colors that I never had and it always fasicnates me how she can do.
"I got a question." I state once sitting on the couch and Chrissy had went back to her project.
"Shoot." She smiles and puts her thing in her lap.
"You have Eve's number and talk to her. Could you text her for me I need to know what to get Nicolas for Christmas."
"Sure." Chrissy smiles wide.
"Want to go out in town for a bit just to get out of the house once she answers?"
"Yes!" Chrissy smiles wide.
"Perfect well I think Dad works so we can find something for dinner while we are out. I don't have time to lay anything out to where I cook tonight and Mom hadn't said her plans but it is bingo night." I shrug and Chrissy nods.
"Mexican."
"Oh! That does sound great for dinner." I nod.
I watch some television with Chrissy as her phones goes off back and forth with her typing vigorously each time. Chrissy hands her phone over and I see that she has typed out a draft message for me to read.
'Eve said she will meet us in town this evening because she has to buy for him too. Is that okay?'
"That is perfect Chrissy. Invite her to dinner with us, if you want." I smile and hand her phone back to her.
Chrissy goes to texting and I send a text out to Nicolas that I won't be over today. I know he is fine with it since we did have lunch together he just didn't realize I was off the clock not an hour later and he had said he needed to spend some time with working on his book to meet his deadline.
Nicolas texts back wishing us a fun time. I get up from the couch to freshen up some and Chrissy goes into her room with her project materials then to freshen up herself no doubt.
We meet back in the living room and I get her vehicle out of the garage and around to the back door. Chrissy pulls herself into the vehicle using her arms and I guide her legs to move for her as I normally do. Once she is in the seat and buckled up, I get her chair folded and placed in the back of the SUV then round and get in myself.
Chrissy tells me the store that Eve said she was at already and I pull into the mall shopping center. Sometimes finding a good parking spot is impossible because I have to make sure it is unlikely someone will park next to us with needing room for Chrissy to get in and out of the SUV. So parking tends to be at the very end of the lane where no one wants to park.
"Hi!" Eve smiles standing outside the shopping center since Chrissy no doubt texted her we were here.
"Hey." Chrissy and I speak together, making us all three giggle.
"So what do I buy for a man that never speaks about what he may want?" I snicker looking at Eve as she shakes head with a smile.
"That is always the major question on what to get my brother. He is honestly the easiest person ever, which makes gift buying all the harder." Eve smiles and we walk in the shopping center. "I know that in free time he still enjoys building those 3D statues that are like top notch."
"Fun!" Chrissy rubs her hands together.
"Of course you would think that you have the artistic mind like he does and enjoy crafting projects." I snicker and Eve joins. "Gives you an excuse to go in the craft store."
"Like she would even need an excuse for that. Kind of like me and a electronics store." Eve laughs and we all agree.
Eve pushes Chrissy's wheelchair and bats my hands away when I went to do it. Chrissy just huffs since she is pushing herself around but she understands I enjoy doing it just to help her and not let her arms get overly tired out. One thing I have truly liked about Eve is she has not been judgy about it at all and has been a wonderful friend to my sister and even me when we are around each other, we just don't text each other a lot.
"Where to even start?" I muse as we step into the craft store and there is so many ways and things to do in here.
