"Should we stop by the gift store first?" Natalie looks over as we walk by and I nod then turn us to go in.

"That is the best idea plus it gives Mama and Dad more time with them before we go up." I am so excited but also want to make sure my parents get their time in first along with Duke's parents if they are here.

Those people can be a little different from what Eve has said over the years. They don't tend to do anything with Duke so most of the time they don't even speak maybe once a month but don't like having get togethers.

Natalie picks up a small throw that has hearts on it and then a small blue dog stuffed animal. "What?" She smiles looking at me.

"The blanket?"

"It is for Eve. Even new mothers need little gifts too and I know she stays cold."

My heart melts even more for Natalie and I didn't think it was even possible. "You are very right. She loves the cold weather outside but when indoors she starts shivering easily."

"It is because outside there is a difference in how the tempatures feel and this hosptial does keep it cooler at all times." Natalie laughs lightly.

I pick up a bonquet of flowers for Eve and then see a little bundle on the end cap. Since Natalie got Eve a blanket, then I will get one for my nephew that way they both get new blankets. I pick up a bag of skittles for Duke since those are his go to snacks from what Eve has said through the years, pretty sure he may need a sweet treat to pick up some extra energy.

Once in the elevator, Natalie and I hold hands while I hold the flower vase in the other. In silence we make it to the room number that I was texted. Natalie knocks on the door and we hear a 'come in' and then Dad opens the door with a wide smile on his face.

"Your mother is hogging the baby." Dad smirks.

"Jack Winters!" Mama quietly scolds from behind him in the corner. "I am not because if I recall it you held our grandson for ten minutes straight before I got to hold him for five minutes then he needed to be fed so we stepped outside earlier."

I hold in my laughter but my shoulders still bounces some as Dad moves for us to walk in and I see Duke sitting on the bed next to Eve who is sitting up holding Hinsel. Walking over, I give Eve a side hug and look down at my little nephew for the first time.

"He is adorable, Sis." I smile and Eve looks up to me. "These are for you." I place the vase for flowers on the bedside table for her.

"Those are so beautiful, Bub. Thank you." Eve smiles and can easily tell how tired she looks.

"Then this is for Hinsel." I give her the small blanket.

Eve's eyes tear up and I rub her back as Duke smiles watching her. "It's his first blanket Uncle Nicolas and I will make sure he keeps it forever. Here Uncle Nicolas."

I gently take Hinsel into my arms and look down at how tiny he seems in my arms. His eyes are softly closed as he is in dreamland and looking ever so peaceful.

"This is for you and this is for Hinsel." Natalie whispers and I spare a quick glance to see her hand her items over.

Natalie and Eve talk quietly with Mama while I have moved over to the couch with Duke who has moved next to Dad.

"How are you feeling?" I look to Duke as I hand Hinsel over to him.

"This feels so surreal to have him here and in our arms." Duke smiles at his sleeping son.

"Oh these are for you. Thought you may need a little pick me up." I lay the sweet treat on the couch by his leg.

"Most definitely will soon, currently I am still riding off the adrenaline from this one being born. All exciting but horrifying at the same time."

"It is a beauty in its own self that is for sure." Dad agrees.

We stay around and talk with my family for a good while before Hinsel is ready to feed again. Excusing ourselves, we make way to the cafeteria to get some food and grab things for Eve and Duke too. It isn't late in the night or doesn't seem to be for when I normally stay up but I could honestly go for sleeping right now.

Mama and Dad take food back to the room for Eve and Duke while Natalie and I bid them a goodnight to head home.

"Are you okay?" Natalie looks over at me since I handed her the keys to drive.

"Yeah, just tired and be safer if you could drive us home."

"Of course I can." Natalie nods and looks at me hard while getting in the car.

"Probably just the excitement of everything." I smile over to her as we put on our seat belts.

"It is a lot and happened so fast, plus all you done today for me." She leans over and kisses me lightly before she puts the car in drive and takes us home.

I help Natalie inside the house with the ice on the one step and then she lets Tootles out. Poor thing has not liked the cold so he is fast with his business before ready to be right back inside the house.

Together we get ready for bed and she is curled in my arms with Tootles in his bed in the corner of the room.

"This is not how I pictured tonight ending." I barely whisper.

Natalie turns in my arms to face me and I can see her smile with how the moonlight shines softly through the curtains still.

"There is always tomorrow morning and I love you so very much Nicolas. Thank you for dinner and the flowers, you still made it the most special Valentine's Day I have ever had." She kisses my softly.

"I would do anything and everything I can do for you Angel." I kiss her once more before she pulls back and seems to snuggle closer into me.

"You're always so warm." She sighs and then I can feel as her breathing slow.

Letting my eyes close, I can't help but think how I can't wait for her ring to be ready so I can finally propose to her.
