It is now the beginning of Feburary and life couldn't be any better. How I got this lucky in life? I have no clue but I try not to question it either. Christmas has passed and it will be one I will always remember and cherish with me as it is among the top five best ones in my life. All the decorations are long since down but the life the holiday brought me and others this past year is still going strong, making it to where I can't wait for this years already.

In the last month solid, I have been in contact with the jewelry store. Or one that has a person there that can tend to making custom rings. Only downfall is that there will be another couple months before it is ready possibly because of the list the person is having to work through. I don't like the wait before I propose but it is better than nothing, so patience it is and with Natalie patience is a virtue I don't have much of since I want her to carry my last name and be tied down permanently to me, as I to her.

Eve is a month or so from her due date and just found out the gender of her baby. Little tyke has been stubborn on not letting the techs see the gender, so Natalie is the one with the envelope only.

Yes, I even have tried for over a week to get Natalie to spill what the gender of the baby. I want to know if I am a Uncle to a niece or nephew already because I want to spoil the little one so much. Eve's logic is no one better than Natalie to keep the secret and boy has my sister been so right it is a bit scary in my opinion. Natalie can keep a poker face without anything being gave away and even Mama has tried which turned into a funny comedy to see.

This time of year the bakery's are backed up like the flower shops are, so we had to wait until today for Natalie to be able to pick up the dessert being used to say what the gender of the baby is. Eve seems happy to be able to finally know what the gender of the baby is along with dessert. That is a mystery too on what it will even be on the food part other than I know Aunt Massie has cooked with Mama in the kitchen at my parents house, where the reveal is being held.

"I wonder what the house smells like." Dad sighs from next to me where I am driving him to the house.

We took the morning and tended to the photography shop. Uncle Tony is in his vehicle making way to Mama and Dads house since Dad told Eve not to worry about this morning just to have fun with Mama, Natalie, Aunt Jewels, and Aunt Massie.

"It is going to smell good that much I know." I chuckle.

"Talented women in our lives. They are smart and can cook."

"Well Natalie has learned so much from Mama, she kept saying she couldn't cook until Mama and Aunt Massie has helped her out with little things along with Eve. I thought she cooked great before hand, but apparently Mama has been telling her the secrets."

Dad laughs and shakes his head. "Sounds like Holly, especially if she was asked about it. That woman has so many tricks up her sleeve that she even told me her little things over the years as to why some things came out better than mine and it could be something so simple as a pinch of seasoning or hint of a fresh herb."

"Now I agree with Mama a fresh herb like rosemary can carry a dish far but to much is over powerful." I laugh as we turn into the driveway.

"Looks like Ethan and Ophlia were able to make it in too."

"That is perfect and I know means everything to Eve." I smile and get excited to see my grandparents too.

Just as I walk in the door the smell of food hit me like a freight truck and my stomach rumbles at the thought of all the food. How I am not over four hundred pounds is beyond me at times because I will eat anything they make.

For a brief moment, the scans and test dates crawl back in my thoughts. I still have to go around the end of April to have those done to make sure there is nothing becoming of the tests around Thanksgiving. With a shake of my head, I let those go because there are still no signs and I have felt fine.

"Where is my sugar pie!" I hear Grandma call out as I move over to take my shoes off. Dad and Uncle Tony doing the same.

I walk around the corner to see the living room is in full decorations with different genders. Natalie and Eve are by the couch talking quietly before looking at me and Natalie smiling wide.

"Grandma." I smile and lean down to give her a hug as she squeezes the life force from my body.

"Why is it you seem to be getting taller each time I see you and you're a full grown man?" Grandma laughs.

"Maybe you shrank Ophalia." Grandpa laughs. "You know that tends to happen to us old folks as things come back together with less cushion between our old joints."

"Oh poo, you over there just hush." Grandma releases me and throws the small pillow behind her back at Grandpa.

"Now this is juicy." Eve snickers when she waddles over to me and gives me a hug. "Do you know the gender?"

"No, Natalie has not let a thing slip at all." I chuckle and Duke walks over never far from Eve when he is not at work.

"Oh stop it you two." Aunt Jewels and Mama say together then laugh.

"They sound like we did growing up." Aunt Jewels snickers and Mama nods.

"Guess it is their turn to pester each other with us being all grown up and the kids grown and now I am fixing to be a grandmother." Mama laughs.

"Can we find out the gender of what my grandbaby is?" Dad asks from the side with Uncle Tony.

I stand back and my arm goes around Natalie as we watch everyone laugh and joke around because Eve had to go to the bathroom first before she found out the gender of her baby.

Natalie moves up to my ear and her breath on my skin is always welcomed. "I need to talk to you here soon."

That is a sentence that now makes me want to go to the bathroom. A simple sentence now has my heartbeat up and nerves rolling through me.
