Ghost delivered a perfect shot, saving Soap from Hassan when he was close to death's grip. Elena had been right next to the Lieutenant, feeling good that the responsibility of the Seargent's life rested in Ghost's hands instead of hers. Even though the agent was equipped with a sniper, she made only a few necessary shots during the mission. All of them, as supported by Ghost next to her, were successful.
It was time to rest.
With an overwhelming feeling, she met with the others, hoping to see all of her teammates in one piece. Although Captain Price was injured, Gaz had saved him. The two rode back close together on the helicopter, chatting between themselves.
''L.T. told me ya made some good shots up there,'' Soap commented, as he sat next to Elena on the way back.
''He guided me well,'' Elena replied, giving him a smile and a nod to Ghost.
''You did good,'' Ghost confirmed, making Elena smile even wider.
Soap kept playfully patting his gloved fingers against his knees and thighs until he spoke.
''We usually go to a nearby bar,'' he began. ''you better come, ya know?''
''Oh,'' Elena grinned and looked down. ''Maybe Kate needs me for something-''
''We're both going, 'Lena,'' Kate said exactly as she walked past the three of them. Elena followed her and Kate turned her head around, giving her a small encouraging nod. ''It's okay to relax now... Things have been taken care of.''
Elena didn't know why she didn't immediately agree to the idea. She found the idea of sharing a few drinks and conversations with the 141 exciting. She would never work with them again. Most likely, she would never see them either. But her mind just turned her excitement into an unsure negative response. Deep in her thoughts, she was thankful Kate walked by and demanded they go.
So after a quick shower, Elena was hidden away from the eyes of everyone else as she pondered over what to wear. Usually, she had a large wardrobe with numerous options. Now, all she had was a large backpack with a few clothes, most of them in military form. But Elena still had the outfit she had worn on her fake date with Gaz.
The same maroon blouse, jeans, and her killer black leather jacket.
With clean hair, some makeup, and the outfit on, she locked her room and placed the key in her small bag.
''Oy, Ibanez,'' Soap's voice called her out almost immediately as she stepped into the hallway. He jogged his way to her and Elena observed his much more laid-back, non-military outfit. He was well-built like everyone around, but what made Soap stand out was his mohawk and cheeky grin. That... until he spoke and revealed his accent. ''You ready?''
''Uh-huh,'' Elena nodded and the two walked down the large room where the 141 was grouping.
''Laswell's gone to get Price. Both of 'em are caught up in some paperwork,'' Soap explained, as they formed a circle between them.
Elena. Soap to her right. Ghost to her left... Gaz across from her.
''Already?'' she asked, turning her head right.
''Yeah... seems like there's some unfinished business with Hassan,'' Soap replied. ''They didn't tell us much though.''
''Time will tell,'' Ghost added in his, as Elena described, hoarse voice.
However, when Elena spared Gaz another glance, she noticed his eyes dart away from her. She awkwardly looked around as well, her eyes landing on the floor. Was it always this awkward between them or was she the cause of this? Her eyes remained glued to the ground until she heard two pairs of footsteps approaching.
