Gaz tried not to. He really did. But even though Alejandro had spoken to him about his feelings toward Elena, Gaz couldn't help but feel jealousy pulsating inside of him, as he sat on the couch, barely an hour later after Elena had left the base. Gaz felt angst seething, as his eyes tried to follow the game that Soap had turned on. Ghost and Price had returned as well, the Lieutenant joined the two on the couch.

However, only images of Alejandro flirting with Elena roamed his mind. And naturally, he could only compare himself to the older, much more experienced, and amorous Colonel.

''What's bitten your arse?''

The Scotsman's voice interrupted Gaz's agonizing thoughts. And yet, Gaz wasn't thankful.

''Nothing,'' he bit back quietly and shrugged, his eyebrows furrowed.

''Yeah 'rite,'' Soap rolled his eyes and looked back at the TV.

''Gaz has feelings for her, Johnny,'' Ghost added, his gruff voice causing Gaz to hide his face behind his hands.

''It's not like that,''

''But she's gone for a whole day and-''

''Oh, no, no, L.T.,'' Soap shook his head and turned, causing Gaz to shake his head, as he listened to the two.

''What then?''

''Actually... Gaz is pissed because when we were talking to Elena about Alejandro, she sort of made us think that she's slept with him-''

''Has she?''

''We're not sure,''

''Did she say so?''

''No,''

''Then that's what he's worried about?''

Gaz sighed and looked up at the two, an annoyed expression on his face. With wide eyes, he stared at Soap and Ghost, his eyes shooting from one to the other.

''I'm not mad about her leaving to get her things... nor am I pissed that she- well, you know, might have done it with Alejandro. Whatever... It's not like I knew her back then or-'' Gaz spoke, stumbling upon his words. ''A-and honestly... I have no right to be upset anyway! It's not like we're t-together and I don't even know how she feels about me... It's all just... a bunch of shit that- well, I-I just have to-''

''Get over it,'' Ghost finished.

''For now!'' Soap nodded and closed his eyes, as he agreed. ''She'll be back soon and we can ask her. Doubt she'll hide it from us if she was ready to tell us back there.''

Gaz shook his head and laid back deeper into the couch.

''I wish you hadn't asked...'' he said quietly and crossed his arms.

He felt like a baby now. Scratching his head, he avoided the gazes of the two men and continued watching the game.

''Didn't Alejandro say that he never pursued anything with her?'' Soap asked and Gaz clicked his tongue and spoke without turning to the Sergeant.

''Yeah,''

''Well, he might have just... slept with her and that's all,'' the Sergeant shrugged and replied. ''That's my idea.''

Gaz paused, taking a deep breath.

''Thanks... I hate it,''

Being at the CIA base wasn't easy for her, although Elena knew she had a bright future ahead of her with the 141. She had already worked with the men, cried, and laughed in front of them. It was much more than what she had managed to do over the two years with some of the other colleagues. Here, she had kept her poised and quiet demeanor for years, only revealing her true character to Kate.
