The tension in the room was almost palpable, as Elena's mind raced through the reveal. Willem Rijkeboer, the man they were after, was there right in front of her. Elena's nerves sent a shiver down her spine, but she tried to remain composed.

She had no weapon. Nothing strapped around her leg or hidden in her purse. Absolutely nothing grazing against her body, ready to be taken out and used. Elena had nothing to defend or attack with.

Yes, there is.

Willem cleared his throat and shot Elena a questioning look.

Shit-

Elena stopped her fingernails from grazing against her skin and hoped that her nervous sweating wasn't obvious to anyone. As her eyes watched August, her mind frantically sought a logical escape.

She couldn't call any of the others without causing suspicion. Leaving the room wasn't an option since August couldn't leave her eyes. Not with everything else having gone to absolute madness.

Kate's contact had been briefly stopped.

Soap had been shot in the thigh.

Gaz was helping the two of them get out of the damned building.

Price was surrounded by several antagonistic members.

And Ghost had no idea that the man next to her was the enemy.

''Well, that concludes my part. I'm willing to hear your thoughts,'' August enthusiastically finished and smiled.

Elena's eyes shot to the man next to her.

''I... don't think we can come to an agreement like this,'' Willem began, crossing his arms and spinning his chair to face August. ''This was supposed to be a straightforward deal. We cannot afford to splurge our expenses there, don't you agree?''

Elena hadn't followed what August's presentation had been about. Neither was she too familiar with the world of business and economy. Her mind was sharpened only to protect August and everyone else.

Willem leaned back in his chair, as August pursed his lips.

''This deal will ensure that Moons isn't just a pharmaceutical business anymore. This could be the ticket to a new future!'' August replied passionately. ''Look at all the opportunities this could give us...''

''You lack vision, Mr. Moon,'' Willem said with a sly smile on his face. ''I think this way we'll just throw the company's surefire success out the window and become just another forgotten business.''

''The pharmaceutical market is oversaturated. There's no challenge anymore. We have to expand,'' August argued.

''This is just another risky scheme that'll never work out. Didn't we already have that problem... six years ago?'' Willem leaned in after finishing his sentence.

Elena's eyes followed his hands. Then, she heard a familiar voice.

''Fucking hell!'' Price grunted and almost made Elena burst into a smile. ''Those assholes scraped me good...''

Elena took a breath of relief.

''I'm a bit wounded, but I'll live. Gaz, how copy?'' Price questioned.

After a moment, the familiar and soft voice of the man replied.

''Copy, sir. We're on our way down a fire escape. Should be out in five minutes,'' Gaz answered.

August's frustration turned into disbelief.

''I can't believe you're saying this!'' he asserted, taking a step closer to Willem.
