Seongwha was not used to being the oldest of any group. He tried, really he did but he had grown up as the maknae of his family and it had been a struggle adjusting to being the oldest.

One thing he struggled with a lot was discipline. He had always been on the receiving end of it and not the giving end. Of course he still had Honjoong and their managers or CEO, and his family the few times he saw them, to keep him in line yet he found that to be rare and far between.

Not impossible but rare.

Hongjoong also came from a family like Seongwha's: mom, dad, older brother and then them. So they both struggled with keeping up. Hongjoong, however, adjusted quicker than Seongwha did.

Ateez had moved into a new dorm and were in a new city that they weren't familiar with. Therefore, new rules were set in place such as not being allowed to go anywhere without someone from the hyung line (Hongjoong, Seongwha, Yunho and Yeosang) and being in the dorms before nine each night.

Seongwha leaned against the door to Hongjoong's room. This was one time that the leader had a room to himself and it was doing him good. Normally he shared with Seongwha but this time, the oldest was sharing with Yeosang and Mingi. The other four were in a room to themselves but none of them minded. Seongwha was going to give Hongjoong space and that took a few sacrifices.

"When are you leaving?" Seongwha broke the younger from his thoughts.

"Once I'm finished here. You going to be good here?" Hongjoong finished packing up his stuff and passed Seongwha.

"I'm in charge?" Seongwha guessed. He didn't have to ask but he always did.

"Always" Hongjoong responded, smiling as he said it. Seongwha nodded; he had figured as much. He hated being in charge, the kids listened to him most of the time but on the rare occasion that they didn't, he knew he would have to do something about it and he really, really hated doing something about it.

"Don't work too late. Be back by one?" Seongwha followed Hongjoong to the door. The kids all looked up when they noticed their leader leaving but went back to what they were doing when he waved at them. They knew where he was going and knew he wouldn't be back until long after they were (supposed to be) asleep.

"I won't. All of you listen to hyung and be good" Hongjoong swore sometimes he actually felt like these were his kids. He was aware that sometimes Atiny jokingly called him the dad of the group and this was why. He felt like his members were his kids, sometimes even Seongwha too.

"We will, hyung!" San promised, smiling. The others echoed him, still not taking their eyes off the game that was playing on the screen, Wooyoung and Jongho being the most into it as they were the ones playing it.

"I'm serious. And none of you better be awake when I get back. I'm going to check to make sure and you all better be asleep and in bed. No sneaking out or trying to stay up tonight. And don't spend the whole night playing that game" Hongjoong tried not to sound too parental but he couldn't help it.

"We won't! Bye hyung" Wooyoung snapped, irritated that his attention was being diverted. Seongwha smacked him over the head, making him lose. Jongho gave a victorious shout and turned to hug the closest member to him besides Wooyoung.

"Bye Wooyoung" Hongjoong shook his head at the kid and left, throwing one last look at Seongwha. The older understood that look. That was Hongjoong's way of saying:

'Keep an eye on the kids. I'm trusting you'. Hongjoong always trusted Seongwha. And the older tried to keep that trust but sometimes he just couldn't do it. He knew the maknaes viewed him as the softer one but only because Hongjoong was strict and Seongwha tried to balance that out.
