Wooyoung hated sasaengs. Simple as that. He was nice to their fans but he was also able to tell the difference between Atiny and sasaengs.
Reading comments on Lives, or on social media was not allowed without the comments being looked at beforehand by a manager or staff. That might seem strict and over excessive but it was necessary, especially with the rise in death threats recently.
Wooyoung sometimes snuck onto his computer and looked at comments on his posts, wanting to know where he could improve in dancing or singing. It was harmless for a while. If he saw even one negative word, he'd keep scrolling and ignore it.
Until he couldn't anymore. One comment caught his eye and then another and another until he begun to cry. It didn't even cross his mind that everything he was reading was either false or exaggerated. In his vulnerability, he believed every word and it cut deep.
"Wooyoung, we're leaving soon" Yeosang entered the room, stopping short when he saw what was pulled up on his best friend's computer.
"Yeosangie, it's not what you think" Wooyoung tried to defend himself but Yeosang was already entering the room and closing the door before walking over to Wooyoung. He leaned down, getting a better look at what was on the computer. Now Yeosang was not a snitch, he kept a lot of secrets for his members, sometimes even when he shouldn't, but this was one thing he did not take lightly. He understood better than anyone the dangers that words could have and wanted to protect his team from that. That's why he pulled out his phone and took pictures, planning on showing them to the manager and Hongjoong. Wooyoung didn't even try to stop him, already knowing he was done for the moment Yeosang walked in.
"How long?" Yeosang said after pocketing his phone again. Wooyoung didn't answer for a moment, feeling embarrassed.
"Do not ignore me! How long?" Yeosang repeated. Wooyoung jumped. He had never heard Yeosang yell before and it was weird to hear his normally docile friend get angry. It only made Wooyoung feel more nervous.
"Only a few weeks. I was going to stop, I just wanted to know where I could improve" Wooyoung tried to make excuses but he knew there was nothing he could say to justify his actions.
"You know I have to tell Hongjoong hyung?" Yeosang made sure. Yes, Wooyoung did know and that's what made him nervous.
"You can't! Couldn't you do it yourself? Please, Yeosang" Wooyoung begged. He couldn't face their leader, knowing that he had broken one of the top rules Hongjoong had. Not just Hongjoong, the company too would be furious with him if they found out Wooyoung was doing this.
"You know I can't, Wooyoung. He's our leader and our hyung. He has a right to know" Yeosang's normally sweet, innocent expression was now dark and disappointed. Wooyoung began to cry seeing his sweetest friend so solemn.
"Oh, Wooyoung. If it makes you feel better, I can talk to him and try to make it easier for you" Yeosang wrapped his arms around his closest friend and promised himself to help. He hated seeing his members in pain.
"You can help by telling him you dealt with it yourself" Wooyoung pleaded.
"Wooyoung, I don't have the authority to do that" Yeosang pointed out.
"Yes you do, your my hyung!" Wooyoung reminded him. Yeosang knew that but it didn't change anything. He was still the same age as Wooyoung.
"Yes, I am. So I expect that when I say no to something, you to accept that means no. The only person I have the authority to discipline is Jongho and I would never do that. He's a year younger, that's the only reason why" Yeosang argued. Wooyoung looked confused.
