Yeosang

It was never unusual for there to be a dating scandal in the kpop industry. In fact several companies would have been more surprised if they didn't face a dating scandal, whether big or small, every few months.

Ateez had always been very careful about who they associated with and where. They made sure never to be seen alone with someone just to avoid rumors spreading. But some things were unable to be avoided.

Yeosang had gotten word that one of his old middle school friends would be visiting Korea, extremely close to where he was at the moment so they set up plans to meet. Yeosang knew he should have asked someone to go with him, considering that his friend was a girl and that would cause problems if they were seen alone together but he didn't think anything of it. To him, there was no way anyone would see them so he would be fine. 

He didn't consider the fact that their fans were always, always watching. He met his friend and went back after several hours together, catching up. Not a single thing was different or unusual. The eight idols went to bed and woke up. And that was when things went downhill. 

"Yeosang! Wake up" Yunho shook the younger member awake. Yeosang sat up, wondering what was so important that required such a rude awakening.

"Do you have a girlfriend that your not telling us about?" Wooyoung burst into the room, holding his phone. Yunho glared at him for interrupting when that was the exact question he was going to ask. 

"What? Are you guys crazy? No, I don't have a girlfriend" Yeosang was extremely confused. Where were his friends even getting this idea? Wooyoung seemed to sense his confusion because he moved his phone for Yeosang to see. 

"Shit!" Yeosang jumped up, instantly recognizing the girl in the picture, and ran to his oldest hyungs' room. He burst in, ready to defend himself only to stop. Hongjoong was on the phone and held up a hand for Yeosang to stop. Seongwha gave the younger a hard look to freeze him in his tracks. 

"I understand. Don't worry I will deal with it and make sure this gets cleared up" Hongjoong said over the phone and then hung up.

"Well, this is fun" Hongjoong said dryly. Yeosang laughed nervously, having rarely seen the leader so annoyed. Seongwha quietly left the room, sensing that this was a conversation he did not need to be present for. Plus he knew the six other members would be eavesdropping and he needed to make sure they didn't. 

"I swear, she's not my girlfriend! She's just a girl I knew from middle school" Yeosang explained, feeling overwhelmed. He thought he had done enough to keep something like this from happening but apparently, he didn't. 

"And did it ever cross your mind that there are rules on this?! We have rules on everything, Yeosang! KQ doesn't have a dating ban but that doesn't make this okay" Hongjoong pointed out. 

"We're not dating! It's a misunderstanding hyung! Can't you tell the CEO that? Please" Yeosang pleaded. 

"I'm not telling the CEO anything. Your going to tell him that it's all fake so this doesn't go public. As soon as we are finished here" Hongjoong took hold of Yeosang's wrist as he talked and sat down on the bed, tipping the younger over his lap. 

"I didn't mean to hyung! You have to believe me" Yeosang cried, feeling like this was entirely unfair. It wasn't his fault. He could have been more careful, sure, but how was he supposed to know someone would catch him with a friend and think they were dating? 

Hongjoong noticed that he was abnormally quiet the entire time but he couldn't figure out why until he heard Yeosang gasp for breath, making Hongjoong pause.

"Sangie?" Hongjoong checked to make sure the kid was still breathing and found that he was barely keeping himself from passing out. Hongjoong pulled him up and that was when everything went dark for Yeosang and he fell to the floor. Hongjoong stared at his unconscious body, blinking for a moment as he processed what just happened.
