I can't sleep. I've become used to staying up all night. My body hasn't. Yet.
Blood is still spilling out of my forearms. I can feel it roll down on the parquet, probably staining it rouge. It's not like there's someone who would care, though.
I try to lift my right arm but it falls back down limp on the floor, followed by a loud noise that startles not only me but the stranger in my bed as well.
"Did you fall off the floor or something?" he sleepily asks, voice sounding a bit spooked.
"In what world would that be possible? No. Dumbass."
"Then what the hell was that?"
"My arm."
"Is it still bleeding?" he asks, full of concern.
"Mhm."
"If you don't bandage it you'll die, Minho."
He's kind of silly, but it's cute in some way. I guess.
"That's like. The whole point."
Jisung chuckles. "I know, but I don't want you dying on me. Let me return the favour and help you too."
I remain silent, thinking deeply. Maybe traumatizing a stranger wouldn't be very nice of me.
"Alright."
He sits up from the mattress and helps me get up as well. We both walk to the ensuite bathroom and silently close the door.
The room is actually quite small. It doesn't have a bathtub, only a shower somewhere tucked in the corner. Besides it there's the sink, and then the toilet, situated under a tiny window.
That's all.
"Where do you keep the bandages and medicine? Do you have betadine?"
"I don't have either."
Jisung gasps and looks at me mortified. "Minho, what?"
"Just use water and an old cloth. I don't care enough."
"You should pray for your life." he frowns.
"I won't die."
No more words are spoken now that he's concentrating on cleaning my wounds. Does he even know what he's doing?
The warm water makes direct contact with the open wounds, making me flinch. It aches.
"Sorry."
It doesn't take me too long to get adjusted to the feeling and soon there's no more reaction coming from me. I wait patiently Jisung to finish whatever he's trying to do.
"How old are you, Minho?"
The question catches me off guard. I didn't really think about it. What if he's much older than me? Or worse, younger?
