It won't take long, they said.

Minutes passed. So many that I'm starting to believe it's been an hour already.

The clinic is filled with the pungent aroma of animal food. Gosh, it reeks so bad.

There are all kinds of animals. Cats are meowing, dogs are barking, birds are chirping.. the usual. I haven't been to a vet lately.

A woman enters. Her stomach is quite round, she's pregnant. Looking around I notice that there aren't any chairs available.

I sit up and offer her my seat.

"Ah, thank you." she smiles warmly, sitting down.

I'm waiting for the doctor to finish everything. The vaccines, the check-up, the certificate and whatever else he needs to do.

Fun fact, we share the same last name.

But we are different. He has freckles, I don't. His hair is blonde whilst mine is a natural, boring shade of dark brown.

He radiates happiness in a way everyone is smiley around him. I can't help but kind of wish that was me instead.

"Lee Minho?" his deep voice echoes in the waiting room. I walk to his office where I'm met by my new official cat.

"Is he alright? Anything wrong?"

The blonde shakes his head. "No, it's all good. You're off to go."

"How much will it cost?"

When he says it out loud a part of me dies. I do have the money but I'll be starving these days for sure.

I pay, then leave the veterinary clinic. He even gave me a certification thing. Since we have no idea what his birth date is, the doctor estimated it.

The fifteenth of June, two thousand sixteen.

Oh, right, I need to go to the pharmacy. Since my wallet is on the verge of tears I'll give up on buying bandages. Betadine is enough.

People see me walk around with a cat in my arms. In moments like this one I wish we still had the car. It's quite embarrassing, especially because he keeps moving, trying to jump off.

It's evening. I didn't even notice that it's getting darker outside already. It must be around eight.

A pharmacy comes into my view and I head there. What am I going to do with the kitten is the question. Clearly, the sign says 'NO ANIMALS'.

Someone is waiting by the door, hair hiding their face. I walk closer.

"Excuse me, I'm sorry to bother," I turn to the boy that seems young, only to realize that it's my best friend whom I've been trying to ignore.

Shit.

"Minho?" his eyes sparkle.

"Oh, hey."

The curly ravenette jumps into my arms, hugging me so tight I start suffocating. I forget about Doongie for a second and when he pops up in my mind I panic and push the kid away.
