"Hurry your ass up!"
"I'm trying!" he gasps for a breath.
I take his soft hand and pull him with me towards the place where things went wrong. But that happened in the past, it doesn't matter in the present.
"Don't rush me."
"I'm late, Hyunjin will kill me." I remark, squeezing his hand a little, not enough to hurt.
He pouts. "I'll protect you."
"Like hell you will."
Jisung scrunches his nose at the scowl I give him, eventually giving up on his tantrum and following me like a normal human being.
After not even five minutes pass, I sigh. "Haein has been missing you." we slow down.
"Really?"
"Mhm."
"Who wouldn't?" he remarks playfully, and I hit his shoulder. "ouch!"
"Shut that pretty mouth of yours before I shut it for you."
"With your lips?"
"My palm, actually." I roll my eyes and intertwine our fingers, trying not to let out a small smile, and play with his feelings.
The faces of passersby are conflicted, looking at the two of us weirdly. My mind immediately runs to when that old person silently judged us back then.
Living in a conservative country is horrible.
It can't be our outfits, since I'm wearing black shorts with a white hoodie that Jisung chose for me, whereas the said boy is wearing a full purple outfit, the same clothes as mine. (aside from the colours).
So, because I enjoy the confusion on their face, I let go of his hand and wrap mine around his waist. In surprise, he lets out a squeal and looks up at me.
"Thank you," he smiles, leaning his head on my left shoulder as we walk. "boyfriend~"
"You're welcome," the smile escapes, my arm instinctively bringing him closer. "best friend~"
"Fuck you."
The pout on his cute face only brightens my mood. It's only nine in the morning and I'm already all smiley, which indicates today will be blessed. Hopefully.
I raise an eyebrow. "fuck me?"
"When?" Jisung puckers his heart shaped lips.
"Oh absolutely not, young man. With this attitude you're not stepping inside the daycare."
"I wasn't gonna anyway."
"You're so damn annoying." I roll my eyes, not bothering to move him away from me.
Mornings are cold even in summer. Him by my side gets me warm— or maybe it only heats thanks to my fast beating heart.
