I'm all clean now.

The tickling clock shows seven, meaning my last shift this week will start soon.

I've only worked for two days and I'm already tired.

"Doongie, will you be good and wait?" I kiss the top of his head. "It's just ten hours."

He probably can't understand me. I'm sure everything will be fine, though.

I lock the house and start walking. It's nice outside, just a bit chilly, considering the fact that morning just arose.

I'm greeted by the sight of the world awakening from its deep sleep. The sky has become a canvas of pink and orange strokes, as though an adept painter had taken a brush and swirled it across the horizon with urgent care.

Even though I'm not a big fan of sceneries like this, I feel relaxed to see the trees that are like sentinels bending above the streets, their leaves rustling in the gentle breeze that whispers an unknown story.

As I walk on, the mild rays of the sun that had just woken up warm my clothed skin as if they are a blanket of saccharine honey.

I'm wearing a black hoodie and some yellow shorts. I have to schedule an appointment with the vet, I remind myself with a deep sigh.

There aren't lots of money I have left. Maybe only about one hundred and thirty bucks— if I'll work ten hours today then I'll have plus one hundred.

Honestly, they pay really well. I would've never expected to get one hundred bucks a day just for spending time with kids.

Seo Changbin, the manager, is a really nice guy. He's actually around my age. His father owns the place and hired him.

Hired him as the manager, that is. His father must love him so much to trust Changbin with something like this

At first, Mr Seo— his father— didn't agree to give me a break. It was just a few months after my mother's death too.

But his son begged him to let me rest for a while.

He understands me. That's why I call him Mr Seo too and not by his first name— because I respect him.

From this distance I can see the building becoming bigger and bigger as I walk towards it. The sun is fully out now, winking down at the withering flowers.

Today is one of those days I enjoy.

"Good morning! Class four." the black-haired woman exclaims, handing me some keys.

It's probably not eight yet which means I have the occasion to unlock the door. I missed doing this.

"Thank you," my stare averts down to her shirt. "Miss Im." I finish my sentence walking away to the said room.
