"Hannie?"

A sad smile forms on my face. "Hannie couldn't come today, sweetheart."

"B-But.."

"Minnie is here, though! we can play together."

"Haeinnie wants Hannie!" she says, tears starting to form in her eyes.

In mine too.

"He will come here tomorrow, okay?" I lie.

Jisung is gone. I'm not sure I'll ever see him again, I really messed up big time.

I blink repeatedly and take her in my arms, trying to calm her down. I even move us to sit down at the table. It doesn't help much.

She doesn't like me anymore. I'm not her comfort person anymore. Hannie's hugs are better. It hurts a lot, but it's okay.

Jisung said he doesn't have a single person that cares about him. I'm happy Haein got attached to him, even faster than she did to me.

I'm not jealous. I'm sad.

"Angel, please stop crying." I whisper as I stroke the kid's black, straight hair.

Her tears don't hesitate to remind me how fragile her little heart is. How easy it is to tear it apart.

"Tell me about H-Hannie." she manages to sob.

"There's not much that I know, Hae.."

My eyes lock with her glossy ones. That's when I realize how alike those two are. It's almost like she's his little sister. Could they be relatives?

"You remind me of him. Both of you have round cheeks and big eyes. Though you're an angel and he's far from that."

"Why you think that, Minnie?"

"He's kind of a troublemaker. You're too young to understand." I smile and wipe her tears.

"No, I'm big!"

"Sure you are."

I ruffle her hair, encouraging her to smile again. Seeing her cry makes my heart feel heavier than it already is.

Haein's situation at home is difficult. From what she has told me, her father isn't present at all and her mother isn't able to take care of her anymore.

Her grandfather, Kitae, usually drops her off here. He told me about his daughter— Mirae— which is the kid's mother.

Apparently she got pregnant at a young age. She was barely an adult, the same goes for the man. He then left her.

What a coward.

Nam Mirae should be around twenty-two years old right now. She struggles with depression so she can't really look after her daughter.
