Peter shifted and his eyes pushed themselves open as Wolverine smirked, happy his friend was alive and well. The group rushed to him, also happy to see him alive as M'gann smiled, "Knew you weren't going down that easily." Wolverine complimented.
Spider-Man chuckled, but a pain suddenly hit his lungs and he coughed, "Ouch... You should see the other guy..." He then noticed where they were, "...Where are we?" he asked weakly.
"We're in a mine. We were getting overwhelmed and had to regroup." Aqualad told him.
"How could my first mission as leader go so wrong?" Robin questioned as he walked off towards the pile of debris blocking them.
Aqualad set down 2 pieces of the glow stick and looked at Robin, "You do have the most experience. But perhaps that is exactly what has left you unprepared." he said as Kid Flash and the rest of the group, except for Spider-Man, stood up straight, focusing on Robin, "Fighting alongside Batman, your roles are defined. You two do not need to talk. But this team is new. And a leader must be clear, explicit. He cannot vanish and expect others to play parts in an unknown plan."
Robin turned and physically swiped the idea away, "Oh, so I'm supposed to hold everyone's hands." He looked down and let out a sigh, "Who am I kidding?" he questioned, then looked up at Kaldur with a smile, "You should lead us, Kaldur. You're the only one who can."
"Please" Wally yelled, "I can run circles-"
"Wally, Come on." Robin cut off, "You know he's the one. We all do."
"Hello, Megan!" M'gann said, "It's so obvious."
"Coulda have told ya." Superboy added as he leaned against a support beam with a smile.
Spider-Man finally managed to get back up, leaning against Wolverine as he did so, "Robin's right. You deserve it." he agreed as he took off his mask, revealing a few cuts and bruises.
Superboy then looked at Kid Flash with a frown, expecting him to agree as well. Wally noticed and put his hands over his shoulders and shrugged, then he brought them back to his hips and smiled, "Okay."
Aqualad walked towards Robin, "Then I accept the burden," He placed his hand on the Boy Wonder's shoulder, "until you are ready to lift it from my shoulders. You were born to lead this team. Maybe not now. But soon." Aqualad told him as Robin smiled all the way through and agreed with a small nod.
Aqualad turned back to face the team and Wolverine, "Our first priority is preventing that shipment from leaving this island." The team of Wolverine gathered around.
Robin laughed as he crossed his arms and a smirk grew on his face, "Funny, I had the same thought."
Back outside,
On the helipad, Sportsmaster was in his helicopter as Shimmer, Omega Red, and Kobra were waiting patiently for him. He was trying to start up the helicopter, but the sounds of creaking and stuttering only came out of it. He exited the helicopter and looked at them, "Sabotage." he told them. "Robin?"
"Definitely." Omega agreed. Kobra turned to Shimmer, "Find the problem. Fix it." he ordered. She bowed and walked away as Sportsmaster approached Kobra and stood by his side. An agent and Blockbuster joined them.
"Master, shall we send search parties after the intruders?" the agent asked.
"Don't be absurd. They'll come to us." Kobra scolded, before he walked off with Sportsmaster and Omega Red joining him.
Back in the mine,
"Sportsmaster's the supplier-slash-buyer." Robin explained as the group were running down the mine tunnel, "But it doesn't track. He doesn't have the juice to acquire the Blockbuster formula or to get Kobra to do his dirty work."
