They all then heard loud footsteps that shook the floor. The team got ready for what was coming while Peter and Susan looked down the corridor. "Johnny, when I get my hands on ya!" the loud gruff voice was heard again.
Then something entirely unexpected appeared. A large thing walked into the lobby in the view of the corridor. There it stood with a massive, orange, rocky body and a blue pants. It was like orange rocks were covered around his whole body. His rugged, craggy face was covered in white shaving cream, haphazardly smeared on. He looked both comically out of place and clearly annoyed, with patches of shaving cream clinging to the uneven surface of his face.
"Ben!" Susan suddenly yelled. The... thing spun it's head towards the group and froze when he saw them. His expression quickly switched up and he stood up straight. Susan stepped in front of them, "Ben... These are Peter's friends. His teammates."
Ben walked down the corridor to them and only then the other heroes realized how large he was. It was as if he was 2 sizes larger than Superboy. "Hey. Sorry 'bout what ya just walked in on." He wiped the shaving cream off his face, but some still remained, "Johnny's a prick." He looked down at Peter and held out his hands, "Been a while."
Peter shook his hand, Ben's hand covering his hand entirely, "It has."
They let go and Ben rolled his shoulders around. It didn't take him long to notice the stares. "Take a picture. It'll last longer." he joked.
MJ began raising a camera, but Conner lowered it back.
"How'd you become rocky?" Dick asked.
"Dick!" M'gann scolded as the whole team turned towards him.
"What is wrong with you?" Artemis asked.
"What??" He replied defensively, "He's literally bricks! I have questions!"
"Could've worded it differently." Conner added.
"No, no. It's fine." Ben said, sticking his hand up. "I get that a lot. Reed'll probably explain it to you guys.. What's in the bags?" he asked them. Peter looked behind and saw the bags Dick and Artemis were holding.
He shrugged, "Just some things in case something goes wrong."
"In case what goes wrong?"
"You'll see." he replied.
Ben smirked, "Come on." He turned around and walked into the main lobby with the whole team.
To say they were speechless would be an understatement.
The space was vast and impressively modern, with sleek, polished surfaces reflecting soft, ambient lighting. The high ceilings and spotless glass walls emphasized openness and the advanced architectural design that blended seamlessly with cutting-edge technology.
Along one side of the lobby, a series of advanced, interactive displays and sleek, digital interfaces highlighted the Fantastic Four's recent scientific achievements and exploratory missions. Elegant, minimalist furniture provided comfortable seating areas that encouraged casual congregation or quiet reflection. In contrast to the bustling activity typical of such a hub, the area was orderly and serene.
It was as if they walked into the future itself.
There were gadgets and inventions galore across the room. But on the far end wall was a large window that gave them a view of New York City. The sun was beginning to set across the city. It was one of the most beautiful sight the team had ever seen.
"Wally's gonna so regret not coming." Dick commented.
"It's beautiful." M'gann then said.
A robotic voice then spoke, "Peter!" Peter spun around and a small robotic figure flew into Peter, giving him a tight hug.
