"But the key to this mission is a coordinated simultaneous attack," Kaldur added, addressing Billy.

"Agreed," Batman responded. "Our best chance against sorcery is to strike fast and disrupt their efforts."

"And hope the two dimensions merge naturally back into one," Aqualad confirmed. Behind him, Zatanna nervously hugged herself, while Giovanni looked down, deep in thought.

Roanoke Island; November 5th

Teekl meowed as the gem hummed, and the one and only chaos demond-Klarion, briefly glanced around, his eyes returning to normal. He casually turned to his right, throwing out his hand to stop three of Artemis' arrows and three of Robin's disks with a red energy shield. Klarion turned towards them, glaring. "That's the best you can do?" he taunted.

Out in the open, Artemis and Robin could only stare in frustration. Klarion raised his hand, summoning more red magic before flicking his wrist, sending red lightning striking towards them.

Superboy and Spider-Man charged forward, catching Klarion's attention. Meanwhile, Aqualad rushed at him from behind with a hammer formed from his WaterBearers. Klarion spotted him just out of the corner of his eye and noticed Wally speeding towards him as well. Suddenly, a red dome erupted around Klarion, knocking all four of them back.

Zatanna slid into view, raising her hands toward Klarion. "Etativel mih ffo eht margtnep!" she chanted, attempting to break his magic. A sigil briefly appeared on the dome, but Klarion scoffed. "Baby magic," he sneered. With a smirk, he raised his hand and lazily pointed his sharp black nails at her. "Fi ehs stnaw ot etativel os yldab, tel reh." He flicked his hand upwards, completing the incantation.

Zatanna could only gape in shock before being sent flying back. Spider-Man quickly moved, catching her before she hit the ground.

M'gann levitated off the ground, hurling large rocks at the dome in an attempt to break through. Klarion opened his mouth wide, unleashing a stream of fire toward them.

Meanwhile, Kid Flash and Artemis ended up near each other. "Listen," Wally whispered urgently, "when Nabu possessed my body, he defeated Klarion by attacking the cat."

Teekl sat outside the dome, licking her paw. She turned towards them, hissing, her red eyes glaring.

"Good," Artemis whispered, nocking an arrow. "Not a big cat fan, anyway." She loosed the arrow, but before it could hit Teekl, Klarion reached out and transformed it into a green ball of yarn, which dropped at the cat's paws.

Spider-Man tried firing a web at the cat mid-air, but Klarion saw that coming. He snapped his fingers and the webs then came to life, making a complete 180 and turning around. It fired right at him, tying around him and causing him to crash into some trees.

Klarion chuckled darkly. "Show 'em what a familiar to a Lord of Chaos can do, Teekl." His eyes glowed red as he directed both his palms toward the cat. Teekl morphed from a small housecat into a massive, bear-sized sabretooth-like creature.

Conner charged at the transformed Teekl but was swatted away by her enormous paw, knocking him onto his back. He groaned and closed his eyes in pain, only to snap them open just in time to dodge another massive paw aimed at his head.
