Brooklyn; Many years ago
Teresa still hid behind the curtain. She had heard Eugene had been found judging by Peter's scream. And Harry kinda gave himself away since he couldn't get down and needed Eugene's and Peter's help. He got down.
Not without a couple scrapes though.
She knew this was a guaranteed win for her.
"Where the heck could she be??" she heard Harry question. It almost sounded like they were annoyed.
"She didn't hide outside the house, right?" Eugene asked Peter.
He shook his head, "No. She wouldn't do that."
"She does cheat a lot, dude." Harry told him as well.
Peter rolled his eyes and began walking down the hallway as they went on still, "I seriously don't know how you can deal with her. She ruins everything."
"Kind of an exaggeration, don't you think?" Peter replied as he walked into the room beside her. She could still hear all their words as her face fell from a wide smile to a big frown.
"Exaggeration?" Eugene repeated. "We were probably going to have a fun time at the comic book store, but nooo. We had to do what she wanted to do. What about your birthday as well?"
"What about it?"
"She literally blew up your cake."
"She was trying to create a jack in the box sorta cake, man. It was cute."
"Are you seriously going to defend her for everything??" Harry questioned. "Look. I know she's your sister. She may be a good one too. But you can't deny what she does all the time and just push it aside. She isn't ready to hang out with us yet. "
Peter sighed, "...You're right."
Teresa froze and dropped her monkey toy. She walked over to the wall and pushed her ear against it as Peter went on, "She's annoying. She's pushy. She's unfair and can be a nuisance sometimes."
Teresa's eyes began to swell with tears. She grabbed her toy an rushed out of the room, pushing the door close on her way out, but not with enough force for it to completely shut...
She ran up the stairs to her room silently, tears running down her face.
"But you know what she isn't?" Peter turned to his friends. "She's not ungrateful or takes advantage of others to get what she wants."
Harry rolled his eyes, "Oh, so this is where we're going."
"It is." he turned to Eugene. "She also always tries to be kind and not cocky. She does things with the best intentions and never on purpose. So how about you both just shut it?"
Harry took a step forward, "Look. You know we didn't-"
"So how about we do things a little differently? Alright. If I ever give you this look on my face? This stare? This means you stop talking about my sister or just period."
"Pete-" Eugene began. Peter gave him the look. "Bu-" He gave an even more obvious look, pointing at his face this time. Eugene sighed.
"Good." He then walked out of the room, leaving Eugene and Harry just standing there, staring at the door.
"Never seen him like that before. Not something you'd expect from a nerd." Eugene said.
Harry sighed, "Shut it, Flash." he walked out of the room as well.
"I told you guys to stop calling me that!" Eugene replied and followed them as well.
Suddenly, Peter and Teresa's father entered the house, "I'm home!" he yelled.
