The Amazing Spider-Man of Young Justice (Season 1)

Not A Team

Conner, Artemis, Spider-Man, Rogue, and M'gann headed into the BioShip with Sphere coming up quickly behind Conner, who was also last in line. Conner turned towards Sphere as he held out his hand, "Uh-uh. Go." he pointed back inside the mountain.

Sphere whirred and beeped before it headed back, making his way under a flying Shazam. "You're coming with?" Robin skeptically asked as him and Wally headed towards the ship.

"Sure!" Shazam said brightly, "We'll have a blast." Then he headed inside. 

"Translation: He blames us of Red Fiasco." he muttered, turning to Wally. Kaldur then walked by, "He doesn't trust us."

Wally realized Robin was looking past him and looked in the same direction to see Aqualad, "It's a big club." he remarked darkly. Both Wally and Robin headed into the Bioship, leaving Kaldur in silence.

Northern India; September 23rd; 2136 IST

The Camouflaged BioShip flew over a dark landscape. Before it landed, the bottom opened up to let Robin, Spider-Man, and Artemis out. They landed silently before they released the handles and pulled out a pair of disks, and knocking an arrow before they headed out to secure the perimeter.

The BioShip landed behind them and the door opened, letting Shazam, Rogue, Aqualad, and Kid Flash out. Robin, Spider-Man and Artemis came back as Superboy landed behind Aqualad and Miss Martian close behind him. "All clear." Robin stated.

Aqualad's gear switched with a tap, "Switch to Stealth." M'gann And Spider-Man were the only one that had done so as  he turned to face them, "And we'll review mission parameters."

"Parameters?" Kid questioned, tapping his suit to change colour, "We don't need no stinkin' parameters."

Robin quickly agreed, "It's Recon, we know what to do." And with that, the 2 of them turned and headed into the jungle.

"Kid, Robin-" 

Robin turned back instantly, "The 3 of us started this team because the Justice League was keeping secrets from US." Robin pointed out.

"Or did you forget that like you forgot to tell us about the Mole?" Kid asked both sarcastically and rhetorical as he put his goggles on.

The 2 took off, and Shazam looked at him with both an angry and disappointed look at Kaldur's silence. Connor grabbed M'gann's arm, "Come on. I'll keep you safe." he told her.

"You're my boyfriend, Connor. Not my keeper. Stop hanging on me like a character from a 70's sitcom." She told him telepathically. She annoyingly crossed her arms. 

"I just... wanna protect you." Connor tried to explain, obviously confused as to why M'gann was so mad about him.

"Like Aqualad protected us??" Artemis stepped up beside Miss Martian. "I'm not sure if your protection or patronizing is good for our health." she continued and poked him in the chest with her bow to ascend her point. Connor glared at her and M'gann looked at him even more annoyingly.

The 2 girls began to walk off, but Spider-Man quickly rushed over to Artemis with Rogue close behind, "Hey. You sure you don't want some company?" he asked her.

Artemis and M'gann shared a look, "Just... give us some space, Spidey. We aren't exactly a..." Artemis struggled to find the words, "Whatever we're going to be. We're not there yet." And she and M'gann walked off.

Spider-Man watched them leave, extremely confused as Rogue walked up beside him, "Ya know, darlin', girls are about as clear as mud on a rainy day. Trust me." She put a hand on his shoulder, "Even I can't always make heads or tails of us sometimes."
