Spider-Man landed on his room's window. He had just finished a night of patrolling, stopped a robbery, a few burglars, the usual. But even though there was not much he had to dealt with, he was tired. That was not the only thing he was doing throughout that night. He had been searching and tracking down Kingpin's informants and had pretty much come up on dead ends. Besides that, he had also taken out many of Kingpin's facilities. Either none of them had met him, or were too afraid to tell anything about him. Kingpin wasn't making this easy for him. And especially with what happened earlier with Harry...
What was I gonna say about that? Sure, this can really change the world the way we always talk about, but... this is not what I had in mind. Sure, almost all the aliens we have come in contact with in the past couple of years have been pretty much nothing but friendly. There's Superman, Martian Manhunter, M'gann, technically Superboy.
He slid his window open and began to crawl through.
We have never encountered these types of aliens before. Symbiotes? Did he even possibly talk to an ACTUAL alien about this?
He landed on the ground in front of his bed before he began to take off his suit and put on a short pants and shirt.
Wait. I know an alien. M'GANN! Maybe she could help.
He turned to face the door and walked out to greet his Aunt May.
Then again, this is really classified stuff. I'm the only one Harry trusted with this. I can't betray his trust like that.
He walked down the stairs.
But something was off with that symbiote. It was definitely watching me.
He turned around the corner and saw her sitting on the couch and watching TV.
Good to know I might be catching the eye of an alien.
"Hey, Aunt May." he greeted as he began to walk up to behind the couch she was sitting on.
She didn't move.
His heart immediately began to race. "Aunt May?" he walked around the couch and found her with her eyes closer and her head lying against the back of the couch, but still breathing. She was just asleep. Peter took a deep breath in from relief. He walked up to her and took the remote from her hand. He shut the TV off before he looked back down at his Aunt May. He noticed something in her hand. A sheet of paper?
He took it from her hand and looked down at it.
Rent.
They were late.
Peter sighed before he folded the paper back up and sat it on the table in front of the couch. He crouched down and slowly and gently shook her shoulder to wake her up. Her eyes fluttered awake as he began to lift herself up, "May?"
She rubbed her eyes and finally stared into the eyes of Peter, "Peter. You're back." she said as he sat up. She noticed the paper on the table and looked back at Peter.
Peter noticed what she noticed, "Look, May, if you're strug-"
"Peter." She put her hands around Peter's, "It is nothing you have to worry about. Truly. I will manage." She gently tapped his hands with her's for comfort, "Now you better get off to bed. You have school tomorrow."
His eyes fell from defeat. he knew he wasn't going to win this. "Good nigh, May." he said before he got up and walked off. he stopped at the foot of the stairs and looked back at May, who was rubbing her forehead.
His eyes fell yet again and he regretfully walked back up stairs to his bedroom. A part of his mind went back to when he wrestled for money.
I won't deny. Not a day goes by when I stop a criminal, that I could take maybe even a small portion of the money he or she stole. Maybe I deserve it. Some think I do. But it's more a question of... SHOULD.
