FINALLY!

Readers, please read the second part of Part 40 or else the rest of the book wouldn't make any sense. I made some changes a few days ago because I had forgotten to add an IMPORTANT detail. Thank You!!!

The couple walked hand in hand through the automatic glass doors at the front of the building and were greeted by the receptionist at the front desk. The antenatal class was organised by the hospital Lisa had been going to since she got here in Non Pariel and throughout her pregnancy. The receptionist led them to the class they would be situated in and saw two other couples waiting there. They had come a bit early so they knew other people were still to come.

They were then introduced to the mid-wife. She had golden blonde hair and looked to be around her early twenties. Obviously, she was trained but Lisa couldn't help but be a bit sceptical because of her age. This would be her first child, hopefully of many more, after all and she was therefore being extra cautious. However, she decided to give the young lady a chance before passing any judgement.

"Hello. My name is Kathleen Nurse and I will be your instructor throughout all of your classes," the mid-wife introduced herself to the couple with a shake of hands. Lisa couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at her last name. "You must be Ms. Manoban?" She turned to Lisa and asked.

"Yes, and please just call me Lisa. My students call me "Ms. Manoban" enough," Lisa said with a hand on her belly and a friendly smile on her face.

"Of course," the woman replied with a chuckle. "And you may call me Kathleen. Who is with you today?" She glanced at Jeremiah who stood beside the Lisa.

"This is my fiance, Jeremiah," she said with a proud smile, placing her left hand on his shoulder. Jeremiah couldn't help but return the smile.

"Well, nice to meet you both. The others will arrive soon so you guys can take a seat while you wait." Lisa nodded at the statement before turning to Jeremiah.

"Jerry, can you please get me my water? I forgot it in the car."

"Of course."

"Thanks, handsome." She gave him a kiss before he left for the water. "So..." Lisa spoke to the midwife who was leading her to a seat, "how long have you been a mid-wife?"

"Almost four years." Lisa gave a slow nod of her head as she held onto her belly and slightly opened her legs in order to sit. She wore black leggings and one of Jeremiah's t-shirts which draped perfectly on her body. "You seem like you have another question for me." Kathleen said, taking a seat beside her. Lisa couldn't help but slightly envy the way she could sit down with ease.

"Uhm yeah. What made you choose this field?" Lisa wanted to make sure this was a good idea.

"Oh. I've always just loved babies. However," she paused, "I can't have any of my own so I love to surround myself with anything "baby"."

"Oh. I'm so sorry." Now she felt bad for asking. That must have raised some emotions. "Do you find your job hard sometimes, because of that?"

'Why am I still talking?' Lisa couldn't help but ask herself mentally.

"It's okay. I love my job. Sometimes, I just want to steal a baby and run away. They are just too cute."

"Yeah." Lisa nervously chuckled.

'Okay, that was weird.'  Just then, two couples entered the room and Kathleen left her to greet them. Before she could process her thoughts, the couple they saw when they arrived earlier started talking to her.
