The two's first kiss lasted for a while. It was so sweet it could have been mistaken for sugar. But the moment was cut when reality hit Lisa as she practically jumped off Jeremiah's lap. She paced around the room leaving a dazed Jeremiah on the couch.

"I'm so sorry. I don't know what got into me. It was a mistake. I'm really sorry about that." Ms. Manoban panicked. Jeremiah then stood up too.

"It's okay. I understand. Calm down." The student said as he stretched out his hands towards the teacher's shoulders, giving her a gentle squeeze. Ms. Manoban nodded her head. "But I'm not going to lie to you though. I wanted it." Jeremiah confessed before removing his hands.

"What? No no no. It was a mist-" Jeremiah cut the teacher off.

"It wasn't a mistake to me." Lisa looked at the young man in disbelief.

"No, Jeremiah you can't. I'm your teacher."

"And so what? That doesn't change my feelings. I'm in love with you Lisa." That was the first time he called the teacher by her first name. To say that Ms. Manoban was shocked would be an understatement.

"Jeremiah!" Ms. Manoban exclaimed when she recovered. "This is inappropriate. Even if I weren't your teacher, I just came out of a relationship. And that is enough baggage already, much less me being pregnant too. I don't want to burden you down with all of my need either."

"I know that, Ms. Manoban. That's why I'm not going to force you or anything. I just felt like I needed to confess that." The young man told her. "It probably isn't God's will, so who am I to say otherwise?"

"I'm sorry about this but I have other things to think about. There's so much on my plate right now. And you are still my student, even if you're in college. I don't want to be fired. I'm already comfortable with this job and I don't want the stress of looking for another job to be added to my already stressful situation. "

"Understandable." Jeremiah nodded. "I guess this is my cue to leave."

"It's probably for the best." Lisa replied as she bit her nails. She then walked the young man to the front door after a few seconds of standing around.

"I'll see you when you come back to school, Ms. Manoban. Enjoy the rest of the day." The student walked down the few steps at the front of the house before facing Lisa once again, giving her a big wave

"You too, Jeremiah." The teacher threw him a small wave.

Early Monday morning, the teacher was back at the University. She went straight to the staff room, where all the teachers greeted before asking about her absence in concern. Lisa told them there was a family emergency before quickly leaving to go to her classroom.

About thirty minutes later, students started coming in, some of them already in their seats. When it was  eight o'clock on the dot, the teacher got up from her seat to begin.

As she opened her mouth to speak, the door to the classroom was suddenly pushed open, and someone else entered the classroom. The student nodded in apology to the class before approaching the teacher.

"I'm sorry to be late, Ms. Manoban. This is the first and last time it will happen."

"It's okay, Jeremiah. You may take a seat." Lisa gave him a faint smile before he went to sit down.

"Thank you." Jeremiah told the teacher. Lisa finally started .

"Now I know you all enjoy your time away from me but I'm back now, so take out your books and let's begin." The students erupted in laughter when they heard their favourite teacher, with one of them having a fond smile on his face.

After classes were over for the day, Lisa and Jafhia grabbed their bags and walked together to leave the school.

"Who is that?" Lisa asked Jafhia as she saw a young lady talking to Jeremiah. The two were approaching the lockers, where Jeremiah stood, going home from school.

"That's Donna. She's in one of my Biology classes."

"Why is she talking to him?" The teacher tried to hide her irritation.

"Uhm, I don't know. Maybe they are friends?" Jafhia answered sarcastically. "And even if they are not, that doesn't mean they can't talk to each other. Besides, they probably have an assignment together."

"I don't like it. And I don't like her." Lisa said. She glared at the student who happened to look at her as she passed, leaving the girl in confusion.

"Oh my gosh. Did you just glare at her? Poor kid." Jafhia stopped to look at the teenager, who was still trying to think about what she had done to the teacher, making Lisa stop with her. "Wait, do you smell that?"

"Smell what?"

"Can't you smell it?"

"What is it, Jisoo?" Lisa asked, slightly annoyed.

"Maybe you can't, but I smell jealousy." Her bestfriend mocked, bursting into laughter after.

"Whatever." Ms. Manoban walked away, and went through the school gate.
