Jeremiah
"Hey, my love," I told my fiance before giving her a kiss on the cheek when she opened the front door for me to enter. I had just gotten home from work, doing 'IT stuff' as Lisa likes to call it. Home. It always amazes me how much Lisa's house feels like home more than my own. Maybe it's because of the love I always felt radiating off of her. It was warm and fuzzy, like a teddy bear.
"Hi, Jerry," she replied, giving me a smile. Her tone, however, did not match the smile on her face.
"Tired?" She nodded her head at my question, placing a sweet kiss on my lips.
"Come. I made you dinner." Lisa held my hand, and we walked away from the front door as she led me towards the dining room. She took my computer bag from me before telling me to sit down. Lisa then went to the kitchen and brought out my meal for me. It was some shallow fried bora with chicken and rice.
"Thank you, Lili."
"You're welcome," she said, sitting down then leaning on her elbows, which she placed on the dining table.
"You're not eating?" I asked her, placing my hand on her clasped ones where her chin rested.
"I ate already. I was starving. The twins couldn't wait until you reached home." She laughed quietly.
"Okay." I gave her hand a little squeeze then dug into my food. It was delicious as always. Lisa's food always tasted so good. Her hands were truly blessed. Halfway through my meal, I looked up and saw Lisa looking at me with a bit of an unreadable expression. "Why are you acting so weird?" I said with an amused laughed.
"I'm not!" she denied, a genuine smile finally gracing her lips.
"Yes, you are." A short pause of silence took over the room after that. "You know you can tell me anything, right?" I held onto her hand that now lay flat on the dining table.
"Yes, Jerry. Don't worry. Eat up so we can cuddle." Hesitantly, I let go of her hand before going back to eating.
When I was done, my fiancee collected the plate along with the glass she had served me some soursop juice in. I usually did it myself, as well as serving my own meal, whenever I got home after she had dinner already, but Lisa did it sometimes, too. 'Sometimes' being when there was something she wanted to talk to me about, though not always.
"Hmm... suspicious."
"Can you grab a blanket from upstairs, Jerry? We can watch a movie tonight." Lisa called out from the kitchen.
"Sure, Lili," I called back. I got up from the seat at the dining table, pushing it back in once I was out of it. I skipped some steps up the stairs until I reached the top, entering 'my' room to get the blanket. It was really a guest room where Lisa puts most of the things she doesn't have space in her room to keep, including extra blankets. As Lisa often wanted my company at night, not liking an empty house, I slept over many nights, which caused me to leave a lot of my clothes here. It didn't make sense to have to go to my own house every day to bathe and get clothes, so Lisa packed the clothes I left here in this room, unofficially making it my room
I grabbed the blanket from the drawer and then headed downstairs. When I reached into the living room, our usual cuddling spot, Lisa was already there waiting for me. She was going through some DVDs that she had of some movies. That stack had her favourite movies in it, everything else we would just watch randomly on the television or online.
"I got the blanket. Do you need help picking a movie?" I asked, sitting next to her.
"No, I got it." She lifted up the DVD case she had chosen to show me. 'Endless Love' was written on the case, and I couldn't help but sigh. I can't tell the number of times we had watched this movie together. "What? You don't like it?"
