Lisa

I walked through the airport, looking for my father. Taking a few more steps forward, I see my dad with my name one a board.

"Daddy!" I yelled out, catching the attention of people around me. He came speed walking towards me as I did a little jog. I crashed into my father's arms, being careful of my bump.

"How is my little girl?" He questioned with a chuckle. I pulled out from the hug.

"I'm not so little anymore, Daddy." I laughed while motioning to my belly. My dad stepped back in complete horror after realizing.

"Lalisa Manoban. When were you planning to tell me about this?"

"I'm showing you now, aren't I?" I shrugged innocently.

"Why didn't you tell me before?" Dad questioned.

"I forgot?" I raised my shoulders in an unsure manner.

"What do you mean you forgot? You have reminder in front of you every day."

"I'm sorry. I just had a lot on my plate for the past few months. And with the way mom reacted, I guess I was kinda avoiding telling you."

"What happened with your mother?" He asked me.

"Can we talked about this when we get home? My feet are a bit sore."

"Of course. Give me your bags." I kissed my father on his cheek before he collected the luggage from my hands. We walked out of the airport and to my father's car.

"You still have Benny?" My face lit up when I saw the car.

"Of course I do. This is your favourite car. I wouldn't give it up for anything." Benny was a bit old. My grandfather gifted to my dad on his eighteenth birthday and it was mine when I turned eighteen too. But then I left, leaving Benny too. Even though I do visit my father, it was about once or twice a year so I thought he may have already thrown that thing out. However, I am glad he didn't.

As my father drove, he told me a few stories about what has been happening for the past few months that I haven't visited him.

"We're here." Dad told me when he parked in the driveway just as I was about to doze off. I nodded my head and he went to grab my luggage while I stepped out of the car. As soon as we walked through the front door, my Dad led me to his couch and looked at me seriously.

"Explain, now." I had no choice but to tell him. I told him about Jonathan, I told him about my mother, I told him about Jeremiah, I told him everything.

"What does that boyfriend of yours think about this?" He asked after I finished talking and he had calmed down from his fit of anger.

"He's excited. A bit nervous, but excited nonetheless," I told him happily.

"I hope he's making you happy. If not, you can always come back home and stay with me," Dad suggested.

"Don't worry, Dad. I'm the happiest I've ever been."

"Good." He gave me a warm, comforting hug.

.........

"It would have been better if you were here." I told Jeremiah while we were on video call.

"I know Lili but look on the bright side. You and your Dad can catch up. And you'll be coming back soon." He replied.

"I know. Anyway, enough about me. What have you been doing?"

"I'm at my house right now, actually. I went to see my Mom today." I saw Jeremiah fiddling with his fingers, already telling me he had something on his mind.

"What's on your mind, Jerry?"

"I wanted to ask you a question but I guess it could wait until you get back," he said with a shake of his head, as if to shake away his thoughts.

"Are you sure? It seems serious." I have an idea of what he wanted to ask but I wasn't too sure so I didn't jump to conclusions.

"I'm sure." A smile spread across Jeremiah's face before he asked, "How are you and the baby? I hope the baby is not giving you a hard time."

"We're both doing good. I felt them move again today." I instinctively rubbed around my belly. I don't know why I do it. It's just feels natural

"That's great. Make sure to tell them I said hi."

"I will." My words came out with a yawn.

"Tired?" I nodded after he asked. "Figures. It's already nine p.m., which is later than you usually sleep at night. You should go lie down."

"But I want to talk with you some more. I miss you so much and it's hardly been a day."

"I miss you, too, Lili. But we'll get to talk again tomorrow morning and maybe in the evening as well, okay?"

"Okay, Jerry. Until tomorrow then, I guess"

"Yes, my Love. I love you."

"I love you, too."

The screen on my phone went blank when Jeremiah cut off after we blew each other a kiss and caught them simultaneously.

"Jerry said hi my baby." I looked down at my belly when I felt the baby moving again. "You miss him. Me too, baby" I laid down on the bed in my old room. "Good night, baby. Mommy loves you."
