The next day, Jeremiah woke up to Lisa talking to someone on the phone. He furrowed his eyebrows as he cuddled up to the woman sitting on the bed with his hand resting on her enlarged stomach.
"So, there's really nothing to worry about?" Lisa questioned the person on the other line.
"Okay. Thank you. I'll see you soon."
"Who was that, Lili?" Jeremiah asked when the teacher hung up the phone.
"Dr. Morris." Lisa replied as she turned to face Jeremiah.
"What's wrong, Lili? Did something happen with you or the baby?" Things like that the teacher loves about Jeremiah. How caring and attention he is.
"I just had some questions about what we talked about yesterday so I called Dr. Morris just to make sure everything is alright. She said it's normal. My hormones are actually fluctuating and that is what is causing the rise and fall." Lisa mumbled the last three words, blushing.
"Ohh. Makes sense."
"Yeah. I figured that was it already but I just wanted to make sure."
"Okay. Good morning by the way." Jeremiah leaned up to kiss the lovely woman beside him but was stopped by Lisa's hand which was covering her own mouth. "What?" He questioned.
"I haven't brushed my teeth yet."
"So what? Neither have I." The young man raised his eyebrows. "Come on," Jeremiah persisted but Lisa shook her head. "Fine. Let's both go brush our teeth then."
...........
"I realised you've been throwing up less. Are you feeling better now?" Jeremiah asked as the two sat on beach chairs under an umbrella in the Sunday afternoon sun. The question made Lisa stomach flutter, and it definitely wasn't the baby.
'He pays attention to everything,' Lisa couldn't help but think.
"Yes, my Jerry. Aren't you the perfect lover?" Lisa chuckled before sipping her cherry juice.
"That's me." Just then, Lisa suddenly looked down to her stomach. "What happened?" Jeremiah asked.
"I feel like the baby's moving." Lisa placed her right hand on the side of her stomach where she had the feeling, then she giggled fondly.
"How does it feel?"
"It's kinda weird, like a squishy feeling. But it makes me feel reassured that the baby is there, you know?"
"Aww. But isn't it a little too early for this?" Jeremiah asked, confused. He clearly remembers hearing Lisa telling him about this.
"That's what I was thinking." Lisa replied. "But let's not worry. We will find out when we get back. I'm sure everything is okay." Jeremiah nodded and kissed his girlfriend's forehead.
As the two enjoyed their moment, the young woman they saw the other day approached them once again.
"Well well well. We meet again." She grinned at them. Jeremiah turned to face her and saw Lisa rolled her eyes as he did.
"What do you want?" Lisa asked with an angry tone.
"I just thought I should introduce myself. My name is Fanny." She held out her hand for a handshake.
"Fanny?" Jeremiah asked as they both ignored the outstretched hand.
"Yep." The girl replied proudly.
"As in Fanny pack?" Lisa burst out into laughter after asking that question.
"Look, lady. I just came here to talk to him, okay? Not you. So I don't see why you're making fun of my name."
"It's because I don't like the way you're looking at my boyfriend."
