He put his hand in his pocket as he rounded another corner. He checked most of the atrium first floor and then went into one of the doors Parker could've gone through. He was just walking a systematic path through the back hallways, checking each room for the man. He heard footsteps behind him and glanced over his shoulder. Upon seeing a man he didn't recognize, he stopped.

"Hello?" he asked. The man looked like he was soaking wet, his hair and clothes were dripping. Laurence eyed him more closely as the man just stood there, looking him up and down. He had metal and pieces of plastic embedded in his skin. Another ghost. Great.

"Where are you going?" the man suddenly spoke, his voice harsh and quick. Laurence didn't expect it and slightly jumped at it.

"Why do I need to tell you? You're a fucking ghost," Laurence snapped back. The man looked uninterested and tired in Laurence's opinion.

"Because if you're looking for the guy, he is in a completely different area," the man stated coldly. Laurence thought for a moment.

"Where is he?" he finally asked. The man said nothing and then pointed to the wall. On the other side of the wall was a different set of paths behind the kitchens of the lower food court.

"Thank you," Laurence said bluntly as he moved down the hallway to get to a door that would take him into those paths.

"Be warned, there are a couple of us in that area," the man said. Laurence didn't answer and went through the door. As he closed the door he heard the man mutter 'what a dickhead' and walk away. Laurence rolled his eyes and shone his light into the kitchen area. Racks of pots and pans, countertops and a plethora of boxes made walking back here difficult.

He walked around for a little bit back there before he heard shuffling up ahead. He tipped his head and listened to it for a moment before walking towards it. The shuffling was in a small storeroom off the side of the kitchens and stopped when he got close. He knocked on the door.

"Parker? It's Laurence," he said. There was a few more sounds of shuffling and the door opened a little bit. Parker looked at him through the crack and then opened the door.

"Oh thank god- I thought you were that thing I saw earlier," he let out a sigh of relief.

"What do you mean?" Laurence asked.

"I have no idea what it was. It was like... a shadow. It was just sliding across the ground. Had these creepy white eyes. It saw me and chased me around for a little bit until I shined my flashlight at it. It freaked out and ran off... I thought for sure it was going to find me, so I've kept my phone flashlight on. It just died though..." the more Parker rambled, the more he seemed to get embarrassed, "I shouldn't have hid."

"Let's go," Laurence said. He didn't want to have to unpack what he had just heard. He hadn't seen anything like that around here, not yet at least. Parker walked out of the store room and followed Laurence through the hallways. Parker didn't say anything else on the walk, probably trying to not make a fool of himself, which Laurence thought it was too late for that. The posters on the walls gave the back halls a weird feeling of being watched. Nope they were actually being watched, Laurence's hair on his neck began to stand up and he stopped and looked around. He felt super uneasy. Who was it this time? Parker inhaled sharply as Laurence's flashlight caused a shadow to slide out of view. Maybe it was just a trick of the light. He looked down the hall behind them for a moment before turning back around and coming face to face with a tall black creature with pure white eyes. He gasped in surprise and took a step backwards, knocking into Parker and taking him down as they both toppled backwards.

"Wha-" he started, only to be interrupted by the creature growling, the sound resonating around the hallway. Parker scooted himself backwards across the floor, away from the creature. It tipped it head quickly to the left, almost too far to be natural. It looked like just a black blob in the little light they had from the flashlight. Where was the flashlight? Laurence had dropped it when he and Parker fell backwards. It was facing a wall, away from them, barely illuminating the creature. The creature leaned forward, two long clawed arms coming out of its body and then resting its hands on the ground, on either side of Laurence's legs. The white eyes narrowed at him and a white smile began to appear.

"h3|l0 L4uR3n{e..." the creature growled; the words barely audible. Parker started to freak out behind Laurence, breathing quicker and sounding like he was hyperventilating. Laurence needed to at least keep Parker safe, he couldn't lose this job. He was lucky they even kept him on after the incidents with Jeremiah. He kept his eyes on the creature. What was it? It leant forward more, leaning towards his face. He then suddenly closed his eyes and kicked his legs into the creatures chest, contacting with it and throwing it away from him. He stood up quickly, grabbing the flashlight and Parker's arm, dragging him upright and down the hallway. They'd have to go a different way. The creature growled in rage and they could hear its claws scrape across the ground as it began to run after them. He was really starting to second guess his judgement about them being friendly. Whatever that was, it made Laurence feel genuinely scared for his safety. They needed to get the lights back on, but first they needed to get all back together. He managed to get Parker to the Atrium, the footsteps of the creature getting closer behind them. Parker ran to Lincoln and Kendall once he saw them, and Laurence followed closely.

"We gotta got theres a shadow thing-" Parker huffed as he ran up to Kendall and Lincoln.

"Yeah we are already going to go because of that," she said quickly, shining her flashlight to a large feathery creature on the third floor balcony. Parker looked at it, scared. Laurence shone his flashlight at the shadow creature and it seemed to disappear in front of his eyes. What the hell was going on?

"Dude we are not gonna stay here," Lincoln said to Laurence.

"I don't know what they are playing at," Laurence grumbled, "I haven't even seen some of them before."

"We know," a female voice said from behind one of the tables with chairs on top. Lincoln shined his flashlight at the voice, and she walked out from around the table. Laurence recognized her now. She'd called him a terrible person. Her curly black hair was messy, and she looked like she was sickly, even after death.

"Who are you?" Kendal said, her voice shrill.

"I am Delilah. Not going to hurt you guys. I'm just making sure you're actually planning to leave. Some of us haven't met you yet," she smiled. The scrap pile from earlier then leaned out from behind her, its white clown mask smiling at them. It was Sarah, he wasn't crazy.

"Don't wanna meet anymore!" Kendall assured the ghostly woman, watching Sarah closely.

"H-how unfort-ortunate. They-y were s-s-s-s-so excited-ed," Sarah stuttered. Parker looked like he was going to pass out. His face pale in the light from Lincoln and Laurence's flashlights. Kendall grabs the cases with the equipment and shook her head.

"We are fine!" she assured quickly before using her elbow to push Lincoln to walk towards the exit with her. Parker grabbed onto Lincoln's shirt too, mostly so he didn't get lost again. Laurence rolled his eyes.

"You ghosts are going to get what's coming," he stated. Delilah looked at him blankly. Her eyes looked as though they were dripping constantly.

"I don't think you understand Laurence. Oh well. If you must go, tell Jeremiah hello on your way out," she tipped her head and walked away from them, Sarah following close behind. Laurence inhaled sharply and then grumbled to himself. Of course he would do that. Laurence turned around and caught up to Kendall, Parker and Lincoln. They walked to the hallway they'd entered from, a different one to the one Parker and Laurence had been chased by the shadow creature in.

"Jeremiah? Wasn't he one of your coworkers who died? I remember you went to his funeral," Lincoln asked.

"Yep, and I don't particularly want to run into him. Just keep going please," Laurence stated. Lincoln gave him a confused look before they walked into the hallway. They walked most of the way down and into the back loading dock where the back staff entrance and exit was.

"Why not? I thought you and him were close? You certainly talked about him a lot," Lincoln said, breaking the silence. Laurence didn't answer and just kept walking towards the exit.

"I shouldn't have brought you guys here," he said.
