Julius was talking with Sun, since Sun was wondering if he'd be willing to help clean the daycare some more. Julius declined, much to the animatronics disdain. Moon was looking after Gregory currently, and Mary Jo had run to the toilet a little bit ago. Julius was starting to get a bit worried about her.
"Please? You did so well... And we are starting to get a bit behind. You were a wonderful help. Plus we can look after Mary Jo while you do," Sun offers. Julius shakes his head.
"No thanks. But I should go find her, she's been gone a little while," Julius said, walking away from Sun. He wanders out of the daycare and towards one of the staff toilets near it. Mary Jo was a handful a lot of the time, but Julius actually enjoyed having her around. She didn't look at him like he was some monster, or a bad person. She treated him like a good friend, or a sibling. He never had siblings before but he figures this is how one would act, especially given Angel's reaction to him looking after Mary Jo. He stops in front of an open door to one of the storage rooms that was still being used. Mary Jo looks up and makes eye contact with him, or lack of as she had no eyes.
"Hi? What are you doing?" Julius asks, looking perplexed.
"Just in case bag," Mary Jo says, going back to putting a few pieces of paper and a candy bar in the backpack she'd found.
"A what?" Julius asked.
"Just in case bag... In case I don't feel welcome, so I can leave and get out of peoples way," Mary Jo explains. Julius looks almost shocked and then kneels next to her.
"Right. Need some help?" he asks. She looked surprised and then smiles.
"I can't reach the water bottles in the backstage green room; can you get one for me?" she asks sweetly. He nods.
"Come on then, lets go," he stands up, helping her up and walking with her. She carries the backpack on one shoulder and zips it up while she walks.
"You're not mad?" she asks.
"Nah. It's a good idea. What's in your bag?" Julius asks. He felt a bit offended, but he wasn't going to get mad at her. He really needed the stability, even if she was a kid.
"Candy bars, some pictures... My old photograph of my mom didn't come with me when I died so I drew it from memory... and other ones I drew for fun. Some colouring pencils and paper I stole from the daycare. I don't have any of my old clothes or my teddy so it's light..." Mary Jo trails off. Julius nods. He thought about making a joke about her having a teddy but remembered she's literally 11.
"Why did you have one before?" he asks, not expecting too much from it.
"I was in foster care for a while. I didn't like the families they put me with," Mary Jo responds, "You're one of 2 people who know about this. Tell anyone and I'm going to kick your robot legs in."
"Got it," Julius says. He doubts her ability to do that but doesn't want to test that out. Last time he pushed someone that far, he ended up dead. Although it was Reed's fault they died.
"Foster care doesn't sound too good then," Julius says.
"It wasn't bad. I just wanted my mom," Mary Jo says.
"Did she pass or something?" he asked.
"No. She left me at a gas station and drove off without me and never came back. It's where I would go if I could get there before someone would find me," Mary Jo says without a falter in her upbeat pace. Julius says nothing for a few moments.
"Damn," Julius says.
"What about you? What about your family? You don't talk much about... anything," Mary Jo shrugs as they reach the door. He opens it.
"Not much to say," he says, helping her put a water bottle and a packet of chips in her bag.
"Everyone has something to say," she says, "Even Aimee and she was booooringgg."
"... Who?" Julius asks.
"Do you ever listen to me?" she grumbles, "She was my best friend before she left me to die."
"... I vaguely remember that... Damn," Julius responds. She makes the motion of rolling her eyes at him.
"You're weird. Anyways, tell me," she pleads, her empty eyes wide. He smiles slightly.
"Maybe another time," he says, his face dropping as Delilah walked in with a goth looking girl he didn't recognize and Toby. Mary Jo sees Toby and immediately runs over to the rabbit boy and starts trying to grab the ears. He groaned and just kept trying to avoid her.
"Julius. Not who I was expecting, but hello. This is Millie," Delilah says. The goth girl waves at him.
"K... Mary Jo leave him alone, you're gonna get pushed again," Julius says, ignoring her and turning to look at Mary Jo. She grumbles and stops following Toby around and goes back over to him, zipping up the bag and putting it on her back.
"Hello," Millie smiles. He ignores her and just looks blankly at Delilah.
"Julius please don't be rude," Delilah sighed. Julius sighed.
"Hello, Millie. You're just another emo here. I do not care, leave me alone," Julius says. Millie looks offended and Toby just sighs.
"Ha- Emo," Mary Jo mimics. Delilah crosses her arms.
"Fine. Sorry. I'm busy, please leave me alone," Julius slightly fixed. Delilah sighs and then uncrosses her arms. She nods to let him leave with Mary Jo, not without a look of disappointment, but she says nothing. Mary Jo seemed unbothered by Delilah, and they wandered around for a little bit, getting some more things for her bag, mostly just snacks from the vending machines or kitchens, or trinkets they find laying around.
