Chapter 65

"LET GO OF ME SO I CAN BASH HIS BRAINS IN!" Julius screamed and struggled against Sun's grip.

"Julius please," Sun pleaded. Devon kicked against Roxanne who had lifted him off the ground.

"Both of you calm down!" Sam stood between them, with Chica, who was blocking Devon's legs from hitting herself or Sam. Reed was standing with Toby nearby, and Toby was sniffling. Hudson was not engaged in this, and Delilah was trying to keep Toby and Reed calm as Freddy walked up. When Devon saw Freddy, he stops kicking and tries to put his feet on the floor, but Roxanne wasn't letting him. Julius glared at Freddy. Sam turns around, almost bumping into Freddy, who had come up behind him.

"Ah- Freddy, didn't see you there," Sam says after a nervous chuckle. Freddy moves past Sam and takes Devon from Roxanne.

"Yeah that's right have papa bear save your scrawny ass!" Julius yelled.

"Can you just shut up?" Hudson snapped, finally done with this whole situation. Julius glared at Hudson and began to yell at him. Devon was just uncomfortably dangling in Freddy's hands as Freddy carried him away. Sam flicked his wings uncomfortably and watched Freddy walk away, setting Devon down before they go down the stairs and meet up with Gregory.

"What's up with him?" Sam muttered. He turned back to Julius who was cussing out Hudson. Hudson narrows his eyes at Julius but says nothing. Sun was still holding onto Julius to keep him from hurting Hudson, Sam or chasing after Devon. Sam goes over to Julius and picks him up by the back of his shirt, to both Sun and Julius's surprise.

"Put me down!" Julius tried to punch Sam, who narrows his eyes at him. Sam and Julius lock eyes, and Sam's go gold. After a few moments, Julius blinks and tries to get out of Sam's grip. Sam sets him down and Julius scrambles away.

"He is such a brat," Roxanne said, crossing her arms.

"So glad you can deal with him," Chica said. Sam rubs his forehead, clearly stressed.

"I don't think using your existential dread stuff of a kid is good, Sam," Sun says.

"What?" Hudson asked. Sun covered his mouth, or at least where his mouth is on the mask. Roxanne and Chica put their hands up as to get out of the situation and walk out of the area. The DJ was still watching this, clearly amused.

"Sorry Sam," Sun apologized and walked away, and ends up grabbing Julius on his way out, to take him to timeout in the daycare. Sam rolled his eyes and glared at Sun.

"What does that mean, Samuel?" Hudson said.

"Don't call me Samuel," Sam snapped. Hudson didn't seem to care.

"Boys, boys, please don't argue about this, it's been a long night, I need to walk Reed to his room and I don't want to leave Toby if you two are going to argue," Delilah said. Sam immediately relaxes and turns to look at Toby who was very worked up by the whole situation. The rabbit ears flat against his head.

"Alright! I'll take him back to the room," Sam smiles at Delilah.

"No. Not until you answer me," Hudson grabs Sam's arm. Sam, clearly done with this looks at Delilah and gestures for her to take Toby with her for a moment. Delilah sighs.

"Just don't kill him," she mutters, guiding Toby and Reed away from them. DJ is watching the two men, intrigued. As soon as Delilah and the boys were out of the area, Sam turns his head to glare at Hudson.

"You have 1 chance, to let me go and I'll explain, if you don't let go, this is gonna get really bad for you," Sam's voice is low and any smile he had from when Delilah and the boys were around, was gone.

"I don't fear you, Samuel," Hudson tightened his grip.

"You asked for this," Sam says, before his eyes go yellow and his body begins to shift. Hudson lets go when Sam begins to shift, confused, his eyes widening. Sam, or Blackbird as he was the large bird now, jerkily moves as it approaches Hudson. Hudson feels a sense of panic run through his body as he locks eyes with the creature in front of him.

"What are you?" he manages to say, before the voice begins to creep into his mind. It's just a whisper, in the farthest reaches of his consciousness, but it was loud enough for him to hear it. It was telling him everything that went wrong in his life, as the bird creature stepped towards him. He tried to back away but bumped into a game and couldn't break away from the birds stare. His heartrate was increasing as the bird got closer to him, before everything went silent in his head and the bird steps back. Then the bird shifts back into Sam, who went pale and then collapsed. He'd worn himself out. Hudson remained frozen, breathing shakily and trying to stop the shaking of his hands and body. His mind was spinning, who was this man, what was he doing to him, how could he talk in his head, how was he in his head, why could he see his darkest moments. The DJ pinged whoever was close and Chica and Roxanne, accompanied by Vanessa who had run into them as they went to leave all came up to where they were.
