They waited a couple minutes and Vanessa and Delilah showed up. Delilah had overheard Monty talking with Vanessa in the hallway and asked to tag along. Vanessa, not minding Delilah since she was actually an adult and mostly reasonable, let her come with to see what was going on. Vanessa looked disappointed as she looked at the unconscious man Moon was crouched next to.
"How many times is this going to happen?" she asked. She looked a bit done with everything going on.
"We don't know! We haven't gotten a new one in a little while!" Sun defended, moving his arms exasperatedly. Delilah looked at the man.
"He has no face. Like Devon," she said.
"Wake him up please," Vanessa said. Sun let out a sigh before him and Moon got what they needed and began to attempt to wake up the man. Vanessa turned to Delilah.
"Thoughts on this?" she asked bluntly.
"There are more... This isn't good. If it's like last time, it means there be a huge influx of spirits in a short amount of time..." Delilah responded slowly.
"We are barely able to keep the ones under control already. And if could mean that somebody bad could end up here. It's not good," Vanessa said. She seemed worried, not knowing how to keep the situation under control. She doesn't particularly want more spirits, since there are already tensions in the group, between Julius and Angel causing trouble. Delilah was worried too, since she didn't know where they would stay, and that the place would eventually be overrun with spirits if it didn't stop. Delilah opened her mouth to say something, but paused when she heard the man cough. Sun and Moon immediately backed off, kneeling nearby. The man coughed a few times before sitting up and rubbing his shadowed face. Vanessa and Delilah stayed where they were, which was a little bit away from him. He coughed a few more times before opening his eyes. It was clear the bright lights of the daycare were hurting his eyes since he used his hand to block the light. He looked around for a moment before seeing Vanessa and Delilah. He froze for a moment before going to stand up.
"I wouldn't stand up," Moon said. He flinched and looked at Moon, confused. He then looked back at Vanessa and Delilah and then spotted Sun on his other side. His eyes were almost grey, and he then stood up, turned around and walked further into the daycare.
"Uhm. Hello? Sir-," Vanessa was confused and followed him.
"Nope, you can't see me," he continued to avoid her.
"What because you're dead?" Vanessa asked. He stopped, turned around and looked her up and down.
"Supposed to be," he replied sharply, "You really can see me?"
"Yeah. We all can," she replied, gesturing at Delilah and Sun and Moon. Sun stood up and began to put the items he pulled out away. Moon remained where he was and Delilah walked over to Vanessa. He looked between them all and then shook his head.
"No... No one has been able to before," he said slowly.
"They don't normally, but they can now," Delilah said, "Well, depending on the spirit I suppose. I couldn't be seen for a long time after I died."
"You died?" he asked, confused.
"Mhm. Suffocated in a vent shaft," she replied. He looked her up and down again before narrowing his eyes at her. He then shifted his gaze to Vanessa.
"If you know I'm dead then why aren't you screaming?" he asked.
"I don't really get scared. Alongside that, shes not the only ghost here," she replied.
"Where is 'here'?" he asked.
"Freddy Fazbears Mega Pizzaplex," Vanessa replied.
"Oh lovely Fazbear Entertainment," the man snapped.
"Oh you have experience with them?" Vanessa asked.
"They are the reason I burned to death," the man said. Vanessa paused. Delilah paused and then looked at Vanessa who looked stunned.
"Right... Ok... Uh... Well that's lovely," Vanessa said a little sarcastically. The man looked between them.
"Which location?" Delilah asked.
"Fazbear Frights. The horror attraction," he replied, "I was the nightguard there."
"Oh they are not good at keeping their nightguards safe," Delilah said, before covering her mouth in realization and looking at Vanessa.
"You can say that again. Don't pay us well either," Vanessa said. The man just looked at them, kind of confused.
"My name is Hudson. What are yours?" he asked after a moment.
"I'm Delilah. This is Vanessa," Delilah said, "It's nice to have yet another adult spirit."
"How many others are there?" he asked.
"Oh. Like around," Delilah pauses to count, "about 10 of us."
"Odd," Hudson says, "The red crocodile said there'd be a lot more."
"He actually talked to you?! He mostly just ignored me," Delilah crossed her arms.
"Yep. Warned me about a few things," Hudson replied.
"Like what?" Vanessa interjected, clearly getting concerned about dangers.
"Stuff about a power I possess, but that's not super important. He also said that the reason we are coming back is because something is generating 'remnant', whatever that is," Hudson shrugged, crossing his arms. Moon heard the word remnant and walked over.
"The only thing generating remnant is the spirits," he spoke. Hudson froze.
".... Is it programmed to do that?" he asked Vanessa slowly.
"Artificial intelligence. All of the animatronics have it. They've come a long way," Vanessa replied. He looked Moon up and down. Moon sighed and turned around to walk away, tired of people not listening to him. Delilah smiled at Hudson.
"Yeah it's pretty cool. They are all so nice. Nicer than some of the teens, I'll say that much," she said. Vanessa snorted. Hudson seemed a bit confused and adjusted one of his sleeves, fixing it.
"You should come meet them now! They are all with Freddy," Delilah sounded excited.
"Oh. I don't do animatronics too well..." Hudson explained.
"Freddy is basically just a person in a bear costume to be honest. His AI is much more human. Although Sun and Moon's are pretty good too," Delilah said. Hudson looked at Vanessa who just looked tired and then back at Delilah.
"Alright then. I suppose," he said. She smiled and turned around, gesturing for him to follow her as she walked out of the daycare. He obliged, mostly confused and dazed by this bizarre experience. Vanessa sighed and went over to Moon who was organizing some colouring pencils for the next day.
"I need you to keep an eye out for something collecting remnant. Not just the ghosts, something that feeding it to them, on purpose or not," she said.
"I know Vanessa. I'm just worried..." Moon said.
"I am too," Vanessa sighed.
